I love you all thank you so much for reading❤️❤️

Caera

This was hell on earth.

We trained 15 hours a day in a humid underground prison. Everybody was mean to everyone. People died everyday. Food was a prize no longer a daily necessity. The walls were thick and mossy, on the other side of them was where people burned the dead bodies. You would sleep train puke every single day.

The fact that Scythe Seris told me about this made it even worse. I knew what was to come, the final battle to choose the next Scythe. A free for all fight to the dead. But there was a catch. The more battles you win in our current training, the later you join the fight. Meaning you have an advantage of stamina.

After 3 months of dealing with this selection process our administrators finally gave us a schedule we could plan for.

2 more weeks of training was left. These two weeks would be called Agrona's Wrath to signify just how painful they would be.

And now, we were on our last day.

"Caera Vritra and Clavin Vritra. Move your lazy asses to the fighting arena this instant. Your match will be the final one until the selection." The loud speaker boomed.

You could hear cheering rise all around the inner workings of our home.

Everyone was happy they weren't selected in the final fight, as the unfortunate soul would have to fight me.

I never was a mean person. Sure I was dignified and ruthless in the relictombs...but who wasn't.

In Alacrya I was nice, caring and tried to help people when I could.

Now however, this environment had changed me.

I didn't care what had to be done to achieve my goal, I didn't care what I had to sacrifice. This was something the other candidates couldn't yet do. Meaning I always had the advantage.

Breaking away from my thoughts I heard an ear scratching metallic creak. Gears shifted inside the walls as the gate on the other side of the stage began to lift.

Standing up from my bench I prepared for battle.

Mana was dancing in my horns, ready to be unleashed. My long scarlet sword shimmered in my hand. My pearly core humming within me.

Once both gates had fully opened I made my way towards the center of the arena. Clavin, was a bit slower.

Eventually he made his way towards me and stuck out his hand, "For the Vritra" he said.

I gave him as icy stare. My ruby eyes gazing at his very being. His 6 ft tall figure shrank as he took a step back. "For me" I replied as I turned backwards.

Although my gaze wasn't even near as intimidating as Grey's. I was still proud of it.

Once Clavin and I had 20 feet between us, a loud noise cast by sound magic was rang.

Mana floated to my finger tips, the pureness of the partials was so perfect. But I couldn't use mana like that, I needed it unstable.

Sending my own mana into my hand I destabilized the mana in the atmosphere, a large ball of black fire ignited in front of me. The icy feeling it gave off sent shivers down my spine.

The spell I cast was unique to me. Normally soulfire is cast from within, corrupting mana inside your channels to then unleash a more powerful fire.

This however was completely different. I used the mana in the atmosphere and made it radioactive, then I ignited it with soulfire. This caused my spell to eat away at any and all mana. The air the ground the flesh the soul. All of it would be succumbed under this flame.
