"mom I won the math contest!" jaemin ran towards his parents with a big smile on his face
his mother squatted down to match his height "we are so proud of you my dearest son!"
"since you won what treat do you want?"
"ICE CREAM!" he said immediately
"dad I got a perfect score on my test!"
"my dearest son never disappoints!" his father said while ruffling his hair
"I got a gold medal!"
"look I won the art contest!"
"I aced all my exams!"
"I won the school's spelling bee!"
"I got a scholarship!" said excitedly
"I ranked first in our class" he smiled
"I aced my exams again"
Na Jaemin was that kid that every parent would dream off. Winning gold medals,contests and scoring perfect in tests and exams but his intelligence won't help
"I topped the quiz again mom and dad...." but this time jaemin said all alone in his room while he sat on the wooden floor hugging down his knees
it was the time he realized that his parents were too busy working not even giving him a spare second.
Don't get me wrong his parents are proud of him but the problem is that their family is poor. If Jaemin was born in a golden spoon he would have been living the best life right now but no they weren't.
he would catch his parents crying in the middle of the night counting how much more they needed in order to live. His mother would always come at home late exhausted and his father coming home with bruises on his face probably getting beat up by his boss again.
by that Jaemin started to feel guilty. Instead of focusing on his studies he decided taking part time jobs on and on without his parents knowing. That's when his academic performances started to go down little by little everyday. His teachers constantly scolds him because of his poor academic performances and always failing from exams
the total opposite of what he usually was.
"Jaemin I don't think you should continue here in this school because it'll may affect this school's public image. This school is for the rich and for the smartest students and you are were accepted through scholarship so we expected better from you but what happened? what happened to you Jaemin?" the school's principal sarcasticingly giggled
"do you think this school is a joke?"
Jaemin lowered his head holding hack his tears in silence since he can't talk back anyway
"From now own you're expelled from this school Na Jaemin" the school's principal slammed down his student information
"But Mr.Kang!-"
"NO BUTS LEAVE MY OFFICE NOW!" with no choice he left the room in a crying mess. How can he tell his parents about this? he's a failure , jaemin thought
It was late at night when he came back home he didn't hear any noise so he assumes they're sleeping but it felt weird he didn't hear anything. It was quiet , except the water creaking from the ceiling.
a note was left on the table. Slowly unfolding the note he read the it was labeled as "to our dearest son". not even minutes before he read the first sentence he was already sobbing
it was a note from his parents about moving to a different country basically going abroad but he wasn't mad nor happy of course. Atleast he has his grandparents to take care of him.
but being left alone like this? hurts but atleast they left enough money for his grandparents to raise him
life was cruel to him.
