We fell in love in a week.
Monday, you said you needed me in your life.
You played a melody my heart cried out for.
And softly I remembered why skin is made of fiber and not iron.
Tuesday, you spoke of marriage,
And planned out our theme, venue, flowers.
I had never thought someone could see me in the way you did.
Wednesday, I told you of my heart.
You assured me you weren't like the others,
That my history was safe, that you were different.
Thursday, I received a warning.
You were nothing but a player, said your friend.
I was merely prey under your claws, a grin under your teeth.
A sheep helpless to the wolf.
But I was naive, too good to be true,
so I told you "I love you" for the first time.
Friday, I woke up to no longer being good enough.
Careless, inconsiderate, selfish.
What happened to the wedding dress you saw me in?
The cat you introduced me to?
What happened to the feeling of radamancy
Was that week just a play date to you?
