𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥:
"You excited?"
I looked at Kamo as he stood tall and proud in his kimono, he caressed my hand and gave me another reassuring look before we stepped into the bustling festival. I smiled at Kamo and said, "Where do we even start?" He smirked and said,
"That's the fun part." I looked at his ominous expression and with that he lead me into the beautifully decorated festival, there were so many stalls to choose from. Kamo tightened his grip on my hand and whispered, "We should get something to eat first." He lead me over to a yakitori stall and quickly bought two for the pair of us.
"Thank you Kamo!" He patted my head as he held onto my free hand so that we don't lose each other and continued to march us through the thick festival crowd. Suddenly he stopped yet again and said,
"Wait here, I'll be right back." I nodded my head and stood to the side whilst Kamo disappeared to the shrine and did what I assume was a quick prayer. I was minding my own business staring at the festival lanterns they made everything just seem more beautiful. The world around me just seemed to stop as I took in the view around me, ignoring the busy sounds of the festival and just taking in the short moment of reflection. "You look peaceful." Kamo had returned and had broken me out of my trance.
"Yeah I was just doing some thinking." He looked at me questioningly and then grabbed my hand,
"Yeah, well no more of that we're here in the now not the past or future." I rolled my eyes at the quick shutdown, but then he says, "You can tell me about your fantasies about me later." I was about to protest at his warped statement, but unexpectedly we had made it far away from the temple and are now in front of a stall. Kamo hovered over the strings hanging over the covered glass box and then asked, "Which string should I choose?" I looked at him and then down at the strings,
"That one."I pointed towards a string close to the middle, Kamo pulled at it and a small figurine was attached to the end. The vendor congratulated us, I was about to ask if we could play another round, but then Kamo quickly checked his wristwatch and took a hold of my hand once again.
"Almost there..." He whispered with bated breath, he dragged me to a small viewing spot at a park close by to the festival, before I could say anything else a loud pop erupted from far away and there it was fireworks of all sizes and colours illuminated the night sky. Kamo whispered, "Happy birthday [Name]."
