{Chapter 2} tragedy

A month had passed since the masked ball,amity and Luz had gotten nowhere, convinced that the other didn't want to see them, amity had investigated and it came down to no one, even the human had someone! But that was a liez Luz did not, people said the human got someone when they saw the two in the garden, that part amity did not hear, Luz felt terrible how did she not have a partner? Did her partner choose someone else? They both had just gave up and got ready to say farewell to their parents.

Today as a clear sunny day as it was the day every year that all queens and kings of all kind from their kingdom went and traveled to another kingdom over seas and made pacts, made deals and trades, currently Luz was kind of nervous, her mother kept saying I'd be alright and it was only 3 months, Luz always missed when her mom left, Luz hugged her mother
"Must you go? You already have pace treaties with everyone here and 12 kingdoms over seas" Luz said sadly

"I know mijah but I'm doing this for you, if I can get at least one more I'll come back early ok?", She said softly as Luz sighed and nodded
"ok, ok fine, but please be careful, if you see pirates ask for their autographs" Luz joked as her mother smiled and left.

"I love you!" They shouted at each other before waving, that'd be the last time Luz saw her mother for another 3 months, Luz hated when her mother left, sure her mother braufht gifts back but the best one was her, just coming home.

Amity's parents were leaving as well, amity we and bi them farewell as her father was more of getting the important stuff in his lab, her mother stood before her

"behave and listen to your advisor, we will be gone abyar at most if we don't get at least 3 dozen new treasures, no matter kingdoms dukes or not, we must have more than other kingdoms..your sister and brother are over seas so I'll bring them back if they agree, remember how to eat, don't slouch, I'll be hearing from your advisor everyday so make sure your on your best behavior no to embarrass me understood?"

Amity nodded as she was actually happy when her parents left, her advisor ignored her and said details always small mistake on how Amity studied longer than intended or ate using the wrong fork, her mothers punishments never went through due to her advisor not caring much, her advisor knew how hurt Amity was when she got punishments, the scars proving some of them.

As her parents left amity felt a huge weight lifted off her, she smiled and went inside changing, this was it! She could wear whatever she liked, the maids and butlers could fool around, amity got to cook and talk casually, when her parents left everything changed and amity loved it.

All the parents left and that was it, their kids were supervised but they were never terrible of curses with that amity sought out to find her soulmate, the one she always danced with, she sent out invitations to everyone so they could have a party, but the jist was that everyone who didn't find their partner after that night could find a new or them here at her castle, in 3 days time,

Luz was out having a picnic with Gus and willow talking about the dance, all laying down snacking on fruits and food, Gus and willow got a scroll as they told Luz what happened, Luz's eye lit up
"you might find your partner there!", Willow said excited as Luz smiled
"I'll get to meet both of yours!" They all bounced around excited

"alright be cool, this is the blights we're talking about, so it's a casual party don't dress up to much, a suit is over doing it but undergarments is just too far" gus joked as Luz listened
"ok so just, regular clothes for it, well I told you guys who mine was, she was very kind, but we haven't met, she whispered that she'd contact me when the time was right, but my dad's are off on the trip and I think at this party she'll be there" she smiled, Gus chuckled
"I didn't find one so many I'll find someone there" he shrugged
Luz smiled
"Oh man I can wait, maybe I'll find them there, oh I hope their mysterious" she joked

Luz, willow, and gus all got ready the 2nd day checking each other outfits, Gus kept over dressing till her just out on a cardigan he wore at his old school which was perfect

Luz wore a white button up shirt with her hair natural, pants that were wore during training but nice and clean and new, and a belt with her shirt tucked in, an nice boots

Willow wore a cute light green dress with her glasses and her hair tie in a ponytail

They approved and got ready the next day, all were nervous, what if they did meet their soulmates or the one, what would they do then? Would they just discuss the future? What their kingdoms combined would bring? Kids?! They were all freaking out

The made their way to the blight kingdom and wow, was it crazy, drinks everywhere, people making out, others crying, some taking pictures, it was crazy, Luz got nervous, she was the only human there so she couldn't defend herself even if she wanted to, willow and gus walked around staying close to the taller female, they didn't want her getting hurt knowing she was human so Gus got an idea, he did a spell and made Luz fake pointy ears, Luz of course fet it and thanked us before music started and people dance with one another

Luz walked around nervous, what was the point of these parties? Was it to make out take pictures and get drunk? Luz knew better so she got a drink and just went upstairs, she ran into boscha who was pulling willow up the stairs which both willow and Luz looked t each other surprised, boscha ignore Luz and pulled willow into a separate room, Luz took a moments and just went to the balcony sighing, she never liked parties, she felt her ears glitching and knew it must've been Gus, he must've been having fun or forgotten about her, she sighed, why couldn't she be a witch? Was it that hard? She learned with her mentor eda the limited magic

But nowadays yes there was magic and whatnot but belos had limited it to the bare minimum, like building castles, healing, conceiving if necessary, and small thighs, fighting was a no, absolutely not, only the Emperor's coven would learn such things, if you were heard fighting or even you'd been petrified or worse, your magic taken away.

Luz made a small light glyph so she could see she stood there sadly, did her soulmate not want to meet her? Did her soulmate figure out that she was human? Was that the problem?

Luz was drinking a bit more until she heard that angelic voice again, it would Infront of the yard as she looked around

"No don't break that! That's expensive!" Something shatters but was fixed easily, she saw the frustrated teal haired female and leaned against the railing laughing softly, hearing a chuckled Amity looked around to see who dare laughed at he but saw the human, she saw the ear glitch and was amazed, that was the human?
  She looked so amazing, she tried getting a closer look maybe she'd mistake the human for a male or female, the hair was kinda a mess so she couldn't tell,
but everything suddenly went quiet after everyone got their scrolls, people began shouting some crying others running out, Luz looked around confused as she ran out and everyone was freaking out.
Luz ra downstairs as Gus and willow ran and hugged her "oh my god Luz there you are! There's been a terrible tragedy! Our parents ships have both crashed and other raided, and some sunk due to the storms!" Luz's heart dropped outside she scrolled...she scrolled and scrolled to see if her mother's name was on there, at first no, but finally she found her last name, she tested up falling to her knees, her mothers ship has crashed into a raiders ship, in a terrible storm, she would've survived but a wave crashed over the ship with many more ship, Luz held her head and cried, this couldn't be happening.
He mother...

No she would not accept this.. she trembled and ran
Amity saw people running and then the human crying, what happened? Amity was told by boscha as amity checked the scroll, her parents are the top of the list, she dropped her scroll and felt her heart skipp a beat, her breathing stopped for a good moment before she fell to her knees,bher father was gravely injure but her mother hadn't made it..
Some human raiders that'd been attacking any and all ships had gotten theirs, she couldn't wake or get up, maids ran out helping her in and tried telling her all would be alright but amity couldn't speak, she was in shock.

Luz got him as eda was holding a scroll and saw Luz as and hugged her, Luz cried into edas arms as eda held Luz close

Half of the kingdoms had lost their parents and their kings and queens that day..
