~First Dates~

The host club had ended and the host began to clean up before beginning to leave. Kofuyu stayed later than others. Not by choice, but because she had been slacking on her duties as the host club assistant. She was putting a box of teacups into the small storage room in the kitchen when Haruhi began chatting with her.

"I don't mind waiting for you," stated Haruhi. Kofuyu shrugged, not caring either way.

"If you want to, then sure. I shouldn't be that much longer," Kofuyu answered. "I just have to pack these up and find the other cups Ootori was talking about." At that moment, said host entered the kitchen area. His black notebook was tucked under his arm.

"Kofuyu, would you like to grab dinner with me?" Kyoya asked casually. "To clarify, I mean as a date." Kofuyu's eyes widened and she looked at him and then at Haruhi. "What? Was I wrong in assuming she already knew?" Kofuyu grumbled quietly and turned away to hide her flustered emotion.

"No, I know," answered Haruhi. "I'll see you tomorrow, Kofuyu." She knew Kofuyu would end up agreeing to go with Kyoya, so there was no point in her waiting any more. Once Haruhi left, Kofuyu picked up the thick cardboard box that she had been sitting the tea cups in. She slid it onto one of the shelves in the storage room, then pulled out another box. She walked it over to the table, and Kyoya walked over to her. He grabbed her hand to pull her focus away from the box.

"Is that a yes?" Kyoya spoke softly even though they were the only ones in the room.

"Well, yeah," replied Kofuyu. She was hiding her nervousness by acting stand-off-ish, and Kyoya knew that. His assumptions were confirmed when she intertwined her fingers with his. "Did everyone else leave already?"

"Yes," confirmed Kyoya even though he wasn't completely sure. He knew where this was going, so that is why he agreed.

"Good." Kofuyu grabbed his tie with her free hand and pulled him down to her level. Their lips met, and both of Kyoya's arms wrapped around her waist to pull her closer. They split away for a second, their eyes never leaving each other. Kyoya closed the gap again. His slender fingers spread across her back and held her firmly as if she was going to try and escape.

"Kyoya? Hey, where'd you go?" Tamaki shouted from the main room. Kofuyu gasped and pushed Kyoya away from her. She glared at him as if they weren't just kissing.

"You said everyone left!" Kofuyu hissed. She turned away from him with a pissed-off expression on her face. "What would've happened if he saw us?" she worried. Kyoya sighed and fixed his tie right as Tamaki poked his head through the doorway.

"There you are!" Tamaki grinned. "Oh, Kofuyu's still here too."

"Hey, Senpai," Kofuyu greeted. She was proud of herself for being able to speak in an even tone. Tamaki stepped further into the room, so Kofuyu turned her attention back to the box sitting on the table.

"I wanted to ask you about the beach trip," Tamaki started. "Is everything already set up?"

"I knew it." Kofuyu rolled her eyes. She opened up the box's lid and pulled out one of the tea cups. She held it up to show Kyoya, and Kyoya nodded to confirm those were the right ones.

"Yes. I've reserved the hotel rooms, and let my family know we'd be spending the day and night at the beach house," confirmed Kyoya.

"Wait, what? It's an overnight thing?" Kofuyu cut in.

"Yes! It's going to be so much fun! It's all going to be great!" Tamaki spoke excitedly. "It's going to be your first time at the beach too! Aren't you excited?"

"I'd have to ask my aunt if I could go first I don't know if she'd be okay with that," answered Kofuyu. She didn't act super excited because she wasn't. She was mostly stressed about having to spend the night with all the hosts together.

"Don't worry. I've already contacted her," Kyoya reassured. "She said it was fine. Actually, she sounded kind of excited for you." Kofuyu stared at him with a blank expression, and Kyoya smiled.

"You have to stop doing that," Kofuyu mumbled and went back to unpacking the box, but Kyoya continued to watch her. The air was tense around them, but this time it was different. It wasn't that icy-cold kind that usually followed where the two went. The change was definitely noticeable. Hell, even Tamaki noticed it, and he barely notices anything.

"Hahahaha," Tamaki laughed nervously. "Anyways, I'll see you guys tomorrow!" He rushed towards the door, but before he left, he turned back to Kofuyu and said, "Oh, and don't tell Haruhi! It's a surprise." Kofuyu thought about how she was teasing her earlier, then agreed.

Tamaki left, and Kofuyu went back to unpacking the box. Kyoya watched her for a few seconds. He sighed then pushed his glasses further up his nose. Kyoya stepped closer to Kofuyu, set his hand on her back, and lead her away from the table.

"This can wait until tomorrow," Kyoya said before guiding her to the exit. Kofuyu sighed but didn't protest. She focused on the hand that rested on her back, and she remembered the first time Kyoya guided her that way. She looked up at him, and he returned the stare.

"Don't think I'm going to forget that you keep calling my aunt," Kofuyu reminded me. "She already thinks you have feelings for me. Haruhi's dad and Aunt Tomiko talk, you know? They compare notes."

"She's a smart woman," Kyoya replied. Kofuyu huffed but didn't say anything else.

~~

Kofuyu and Kyoya sat across each other in a semi-fancy restaurant. Kyoya insisted that they go somewhere nice, but Kofuyu insisted, even harder, that they don't. They eventually came up with an agreement, and the two settled in the restaurant. Kofuyu admired the way he was dressed. Since they went straight from the academy, Kyoya was still dressing in most of his uniform. The blazer and tie were removed, and his button-up shirt sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, so the other restaurant patrons couldn't tell what school they attended.

"Why didn't you mention the beach trip?" Kofuyu began the conversation.

"The twins thought if you or Haruhi knew about it, you might find a way to get out of it," Kyoya answered. "Although, now I think you wouldn't." Kofuyu narrowed her eyes at him.

"Yeah? And what do you mean by that?" Kyoya smirked but said nothing in response. After a few seconds of no response, Kofuyu teased, "You know I never thought you'd be so... scared to say what you really mean."

"You think I'm scared?" Kyoya began to glare too.

"Well, yeah. It makes sense, you know? You didn't want to say what you really meant before too. Instead, you just kissed me and left. Not even a word. Now, you're doing the same thing again." Kofuyu was trying to get under his skin. Kyoya knew that, but yet it still worked.

"Kofuyu," Kyoya sighed. "You and I share the same feelings. I know that because you agreed to go on a date with me and you're still here."

"And what are those feelings?" An amused smile appeared on her face.

"You just want me to say it out loud, don't you?" Kyoya asked and Kofuyu shrugged. She set her elbows on the table, intertwined her fingers, and rested her chin on her fingers.

"Perhaps," she answered softly. Kyoya sighed. His eyes scanned the table for a second then held his hands out for both of hers. Kofuyu set her hands in his even though she wasn't completely sure what he was doing.

"Kofuyu," Kyoya began. He decided that was going to be extra with his confession since she was purposefully trying to bother him. "Even though at first, we didn't get along well, we've come to get to know each other more through the host club."  Kofuyu raised her eyebrows and Kyoya continued, "I've grown romantic feelings for you. You're intelligent, ambitious, and thoughtful, not to mention extremely attractive. I'd be honored if you agreed to be in a romantic relationship with me."

Kofuyu stared at him for a second. Her cheeks exploded in color, and it was the most flustered Kyoya has ever seen her. Her hands tightened around his, but it didn't last long because she pulled away quickly.

"Of course, I would, Stupid," Kofuyu mumbled with her eyes glued to the table.

~~~~~~
Kyoya watched as Kofuyu approached her apartment door. He waited until after the door shut behind her, then he motioned to the driver to head home. Kyoya cleared his throat then said, "I don't have to remind you to keep this a secret, right?"
"N-no, sir," the driver responded while remembering the vaguely threatening conversation the two had earlier that almost made the driver almost shit their pants.
Kyoya hummed then turned to stare out the window. He didn't think the driver would say anything, but he wanted to be extra careful. Kyoya wanted to keep Kofuyu away from his family as long as possible. In no way was he embarrassed by her, he was doing this for her sake.
Kyoya knew his father would never approve, and the chances of him changing his mind in the future were extremely unlikely. Not only was he sure his family wouldn't approve, but he also wasn't sure how long this relationship would last, since they were just beginning.
But, he's hoping, praying, that this works out. He remembered the way she would look away every time she blushed. Even though she pretended as if she didn't care or didn't get jealous, he knew how she was feeling through her actions. It amused Kyoya the way she made him coffee as soon as she arrived at the club room. She got it right every single time too. She remembered the small things about him, and after growing up in a cold, semi-unloving household, he felt a certain way knowing she remembered the small things.
Kyoya got home and headed straight to his room without greeting his family members. None of them even realized he was gone longer than normal. When he entered his room, he spotted his older sister sitting on the couch located in the lower half of his room.
His room was larger than most of the others. He even had what looked like a small living room while his bed was up in a lofted area in the room. He had everything he needed in his room to make it look like a small apartment.
Fuyumi, Kyoya's older and only sister, sat on the couch with her laptop sitting in front of her. When she spotted her younger brother, she smiled softly. "Now, where have you been? You haven't been answering your phone."
"What are you doing here?" Kyoya asked. The words may have sounded harsh, but there was no real malice behind them. He set his bag down and began rummaging through his drawers to find a pair of clothes to change into.
"Just doing some work while I wait for you to show up. Are you going to tell me where you were?" Fuyumi asked.
"I was with a friend," Kyoya answered. He headed to the bathroom, changed, and when he came back out, his sister was still waiting for him.
"Tamaki?" She asked. Kyoya shook his head. "Was it one of the other guys in your club?"
"She is part of the club," Kyoya answered vaguely. The thought of her brought a small smile to his face. At his reaction, Fuyumi grinned.
"Is she the girl you mentioned before? The assistant?" Fuyumi asked, excitedly. When Kyoya nodded, she continued to ask questions. "Was it a date? Or was it something boring like paperwork for the club?"
"It was a date," Kyoya answered honestly. "And before you ask, it went well, there is a big possibility of more dates in the future, and no, you can't meet her yet."
"Okay fine," Fuyumi gave in. She decided to back off even though she wanted to know more.
