Holy shit! What do I say? I looked down, hiding my now flushed cheeks."Oh, I..sure!"
Unexpectedly, one of the butterflies accidentally escaped from the cage I built and it fluttered around my stomach excitedly. I hardly tried to get it back inside, the feeling was unpleasing.
I was nervous. Maybe too nervous. It might be just a hang-out, but to me, it meant a lot. Nobody ever wanted to go out with me. Not even my closest friend.
Well, not after what happened. We couldn't psychically meet."Well then, you choose the time and the day!" Minho said while clapping his hands, quickly apologizing to the teacher when she shut him.
" I.." I didn't know what to say. Ever since I was little I hated choosing which grew me to be really indecisive in the adult life.
Continuously blinking for what felt like forever I decided that Minho should be the one choosing.
"Tonight, six in the afternoon. Sounds good?" he said, chuckling.
"Yeah, it's good. Thank you, Minho." I gave him a wistful smile, now looking at my shaking hands.
I don't get it. Why does he want to hang out with someone like.. me?
"What are we going to do, though? Where are we going?"
He just stayed silent, probably thinking.
"It's a surprise." he said, making me whine. I hated surprises. "We'll meet at the park, though."
Minho chuckled and leaned back on the chair as he closed his eyes.
I spent the rest of the detention overthinking, my mind not letting me rest. Maybe I do need a break.
"Both of you can leave now. Have a good day and make sure to not get in trouble again! " the teacher scolded, going back to her work papers.
I got up and left the classroom, bidding goodbye to Minho.
I ran back home, taking a shower. In about two hours I have to meet him. Great. I hydrated myself and then got ready for the date, if I could even call it that.
Subsequently brushing my teeth, I put some make up on.
Choosing the outfit was the absolute worst. I threw all of my clothes on the floor, not knowing what to wear.
Getting frustrated, I decided to close my eyes and whatever I touch I'll wear. Bad idea.
"Gosh! What the hell do you wear on hangouts?" I silently screamed, feeling too many emotions at once.
After thirty minutes of suffering, I decided to wear some baggy black jeans with a grey sweater and sprayed some perfume on.
Looking at the time, I realized I should take my leave. The converse shoes were the right choice to wear, they matched well with my outfit.
The walk there was silent. I could hear my heartbeat, a feeling of anxiety and fear overtaking me.
"Well well, look who finally decided to show up!" Minho sarcastically said, giggling.
I quickly apologized, bowing. He sassily rolled his eyes and walked away.
"Are you coming, or?"
"Yes, sorry!" I walked beside him, enjoying the cold breeze of early spring.
"So, Jisung-" Minho started but was quickly interrupted by my phone ringing.
I mouthed 'sorry' and answered the call.
"Hello, Han Jisung speaking. What can I help you with?" I said, a bit confused.
The mysterious person introduced themselves. As they went straight to the point, my eyes lit up.
The dog! I internally screamed, excitement taking over.
"Yes, thank you! Goodbye, I'll be there soon.." I turned around, realizing Minho had been waiting for more than five minutes.
"I'm sorry.." I let out a quiet mumble, looking down.
"It's fine. Do you have to leave?" he asked, walking at a slow pace.
"No, not now. Do you know where the adoption centre is?"
"Yeah. it's quite far, though. Why?"
"Remember I told you I was planning on adopting a puppy? My dream became true."
"Do you need a ride? I could give you one." he offered.
"I don't wanna bother you, Minho.." I sincerely said, a bit discombobulated at the fact that he was the one suggesting such a thing.
"Consider it my apology." he smiled, walking in a different direction.
I nodded, walking behind him. Seriously, how can he stand me?
"What about our plans though? You said you'll take me to that secret place of yours."
"It's no problem, we can go there another day."
There was nothing left for me to say so I just hummed and let silence linger for a bit.
"Want a drink? We can stop by a café first." Minho invited.
I looked at him in astonishment, overpowered by the fact that he has been so nice lately, completely forgetting about what happened earlier.
In less than five minutes we arrived, entering the small coffee shop.
"What would you like?"
"An iced Americano.." I handed him the money and Minho immediately rejected them.
"I'll pay, it's fine." He let out a giggle while I glared at him.
Waiting by the door I noticed a notification coming from my phone.
It was my brother. He was asking me when I was going be back home.
While typing, Minho already came back with our drinks so we could leave now.
"My car isn't far from here. We shall go now."
I followed after him, still looking at my phone.
Not paying attention to my surroundings, I didn't realize the brunette took a turn to the left.
I ran to him and let out a groan, exhausted from the quick marathon (five meters or so).
He laughed it off and opened the passenger door, letting me go inside.
"Thank you.."
He didn't say anything and walked over to the driver seat to sit down, starting the car.
"Put your seatbelt on." he began driving, not taking his eyes off the road.
I mumbled something but still obeyed which caused him to roll his eyes in amusement.
Putting my head against the window, I yawned. I tried to ignore the way my head would hit the surface from time to time — though it was hard to.
After not even ten minutes my eyes started to get heavy.
It was hard to focus, making my heart slightly pound. I tried to concentrate on the cars passing by, scarcely hiding my tiredness."You can sleep, I'll wake you up."
And with that, I completely dozed off.
