She saw an orderly heading towards his quarter with a breakfast tray....

"Captain rajveer wapas a Gaye kya"?
She enquired

"Kal rat ko hi "
She got the reply

"Mujhe kyun nahi bataya
Maine kaha tha na batana mujhe"
She was about to launch herself in him when alekh meddle in between

"Kal rat ko 2 baje aye hain sir.... Itni rat ko kaise batane ate"
Orderly carried on mumbling in irritation

And Naina was about to follow him when alekh hold her hand.

"Sir agaye na wapas shant ho ja ab
Major Nair ka drill hai , late hue to subah subah bore uthwayega ....
Chal ab ....."

And he had to drag her with himself afraid of letting go her hand, in case if she starts running towards his room.

"Come on  captain take off your shirt "
Shalini asked him as she was opening the first aid box...

And rajveer gave her a mischievous smile.

"That's very inappropriate doc "
He said with a grin earning a look from her

"Kya Karu captain
I can't just keep my hands off from you "
She played along

And they both giggled and he felt better already
It's good to be back around friendly faces...
Shalini has always been a kind and genuine friend....
A friend who never judge and label
Just unconditional support....

He always enjoy to share a laugh or two with her.
She is witty and funny
And he know that he can count on her.

Although sometimes he feel that she is hiding some kind of grief in her heart
Sometimes her smile doesn't reach her eyes
But she tries to cover it up

He wish someday she will confide in him and he will be able to be some kind of help.

She attend to his wound on  shoulder and he felt gald that he doesn't have to visit the hospital... She can fix him .....

"So can I ask where were you all these days"
She asked as she was giving his dressing a final fix.

"No you can't"
He said with a tired smile

And she smiles back stating that she understands his work nature

"I am just glad that you are back safe and sound in one piece....
Thank you so much for that"
She added.

"And I am glad that you feel that way."
He said slightly holding her hand which was resting on the arm of the chair.

"Is weekend movie plan karen
My treat
Apke wapas Ane ki khushi mein
Then dinner"

"Free ka khana main kabhi reject nahi karta"
He agreed and they were laughing again when Naina entered the room almost in an urgency, but stopped as she saw dr. Shalini.

Shalini was already on her way out and she did sense his change in face colour as naina entered the room.

"Goodmorning mam"
Naina greeted her.

And Shalini gave her a nod and wonder as she was leaving, that why on earth she ever use to try to set captain up with dr. Ritu.
When so clearly his attention was always somewhere else.

Once Shalini left she took a good look at him
And spotted a fresh bandage on his shoulder
He was wearing a black vest and his arm was mutilated all over ......

"You are hurt"
She gasped as she took a step towards him.
Her eyes searching for any serious injury
"Is it bad
You should go to the hospital"
She was anxiously concern

Nodding a no
"Shalini took care of it
I am ok cadet Singh"
He said in a calm tone....

"Ten days"
She finally said in a passive anger tone

"You were gone for ten days....
You could have atleast told captain Abhimanyu about it
Do you have any idea how dead worried everyone was "
She was kind of yelling now

He was taken by surprise with her audacity
And was wondering exactly what to reply to this....

"I mean I know ke you work for intelligence and it's confidential
But koi to protocol hota hoga .. you can't just ghost out people in your life.... Can you?"

And now he was searching for an explanation....
But this never happened before
He never has to come back and explain to one of his angry student about his whereabouts.

"Cadet Singh
I am sorry if it upsets you so much
But .... It didn't concern you... I mean
It was not related to Naveen so .... I thought...

"You think that's all I care about"
She stopped him in between and her voice was almost choked and he heard that....
Which made him leave his seat....
He saw her getting mad and red in anger

"That's not what I meant"
He took a step towards her....

"I was worried for you.."
She made clear....
Fuming in anger

And their eyes lock for a brief moment....
He saw she was hurt and angry.

"It's not like we follow every single rule in the book , do we??""
You could have drop me a msg or something to ket me know that you will be ok and it's not that serious or anything sort of that.
Something to not make me feel like , I might never see you again"

He was astonished with her outburst
He was not at all expecting this....
He never knew he has such kind of fear too.
Fear that concerns him ...
He has always witness her pain and agony for Naveen
It was always clear that only Naveen was his first priority
He had no idea that somehow he has managed to slip in that list of hers....
List of people she cares about

He was transfixed with this sudden news that Naina was so terrified and distressed due to his absence.
He was still processing this new angle of their relationship

He had absolutely no clue how to handle this situation.
Apprently Captain rajveer always knew exactly what to say in any given scenario.
But this plot came out of nowhere.

"Naina listen......
He used her first name and not any prefix... As this matter seemed intimate and personal
He can't refer to her in genric term....

"Naina I had no idea"

And there was knock at the door
Naina tried to calm her posture and demeanour

"Captain Rajveer  brigade chandok wants to see you in his office "
Orderly left and Naina was now coming back in normal brain .... Realising that may be she over said.

What right does she have to demand explanation from him.

"I should leave too"
She said and she can see that he flinch to stop her but then he didn't
By the time she left the room

As she walked away from the room
She absorbed the recent incident more and more....
And she literally scratched her face with her nails....in embarassment

While rajveer was in a sweet trauma...
Her anger had a subtitle saying that she cares......
She cares about him....

She cares

he kept repeating it in back of his head as he walked towards BC 's office
In an attempt to inhale the new found discovery.
