summary.
Things are, admittedly, much simpler before Miyuki Kazuya gets traded to the Mariners for a six-year deal. After all, it's not a mere trade. The catch here is that Sawamura Eijun, already there for one year, is locked in on a seven-year deal with them and nearly got them to the Division Series. what's funny is i did get an idea for chris while writing. then i got distracted with something else. so. that probably won't happen. but it was a pretty good idea! alas
so this was originally supposed to be short. or i thought it would be. it did not end up short at all. the total word count is 228k and there are 42 chapters total. another thing is that i am finished writing and everything is edited and ready to post, so, there should be no issues as far as that.
i should also say this fic was written in mind with a reader of color (as i am a poc) but it's never explicit. i just wanted to give a heads up to any readers who aren't white. i know i've often started reading something with a reader under the assumption that the author writes them as white (and i am often proved correct when words like 'blushed' or 'turning red' are used). i know descriptions of hair have also presented a problem (for me, i have curly hair that people generally can't run their fingers through, so! also thickness and such) which is why i've done my absolute best to avoid saying anything regarding those feature descriptions.
that said, i've given the reader a backstory, so to speak, and established family dynamics (without naming names, however, as i know that can also ruin the experience). i've pulled from my experiences in my family as part of potential justifications for why i did what i did. for example, reader's mother is an american football fan. my decidedly brown latine parents love football! especially my dad LOL. of course it won't fit everyone but just know everything was written with readers of color in mind, so hopefully it's not too much a leap to relate to them.
it's not perfect and there's probably areas i can improve and other areas that are impossible to be helped without becoming specific but i tried! so i hope you guys enjoy!
