"Yes. Yes, Nia!" Raven Baxter chuckled as she was on a FaceTime call with her daughter, Nia Baxter-Carter; "-I've been thinking about your first day of school outfit, and I think you should wear--".

"Oh, you already picked out a top. Without me." Raven raised her eyebrows; "And without straps?".

"Hey, Mom. Have you seen my left shoe?" Booker Baxter-Carter asked as he looked around for the footwear.

"I know what you're gonna say, where did I have it last?" He says. "It was on my foot." Booker added; "Problem is, it's not there now.". Raven digs into the couch beside her and hands the shoe off to her son. "Thanks!" Booker beams.

"Has your father seen that outfit?" Raven asks Nia. "Oh. And he's gonna let you wear it? Okay" Raven smiled. "Hmm. We'll see about that..." Raven mumbled before she flips her camera and texts her ex-husband. "-Hey, Mom?" Booker asked as he continued to search for things.

"Hey, honey. I'm sorry." Raven looks back at her camera and chuckles; "I don't know why your dad changed his mind.".

"-Have you seen my phone?" Booker questions. "It's in your shoe" Raven points out. "Right!" Booker smiled before going upstairs. "Yeah. Nia," Raven sighed as she sat down on the couch. "-in a couple days, Booker's going to be your dad's problem." She says.

"Hey, Mom. Have you seen-?" Booker got cut shorthand as he comes downstairs.

"-Whatever it is, find it yourself!" Raven yells.

"Of course I'm gonna miss you both!" Raven continued her conversation with her daughter. "But, it'll be nice to be able to focus on your grandpa without your brother asking me to find things for him." Raven said. "Trying to make me laugh with his bad jokes," Raven chuckled. "-or give me kiss before he goes to bed at night." Raven sniffled.

"Hey, Mom. I couldn't find my toothbrush so I'm just gonna use yours." Booker muffled his sentence as he brushed his teeth.

"I'm gonna miss you so much, Booker, Okay? I'm gonna miss you so much!" Raven stated as she hugged her son with sobs; "-And you can keep the toothbrush, okay!".

The sixteen-year-old boy tries to place his hockey stick in his duffel bag, struggling; Booker eventually gives up.

"Hey, Booker. Listen, um, I was just thinking about you heading back to Chicago." Raven says as she comes into room.

"Yeah, I can't wait to get back!" Booker smiled; "Nia said this year the school cafeteria's getting spicy pizza rolls!".

"Oh" Raven chuckled. "Well, I mean, there has to be,you know, some things here that you're gonna miss...or someone?" Raven hinted. "You're right." Booker says as Raven's eyes lit up with hope. "Ivy and Neil are pretty cool," Booker stated; "I'm gonna miss them.".

"You just met them a couple weeks ago. You'll get over it." Raven mumbles.

"-I am pretty bummed about not seeing Dahlia though" Booker says as he continues to pack his things. "Ah yes, Dahlia Zoyflet. The best friend and crush since the fifth grade!" Raven said making her son stop packing his things for a second and smile to himself. "-You know, you never told me what happened between you two.".

"It was nothing...we just drifted apart after she moved here" Booker shrugged the topic off.

"Hmm" Raven nods. "All right, well...guess there's nothing left to say". "Oh, wait! Mom, there is one more thing" Booker stops his mom from leaving. "Yes, I knew it. Baby. I feel the same way. I really do!" Raven felt overjoyed that her son wanted the same thing she wanted; "-Listen. If it's too hard for you, I'll-".

"It is. I thought I could do it, as but I just can't." Booker sighed; "This hockey stick just will not fit in this bag!".

"Can you ship it home for me?" Booker asked his mother.

Snatching the hockey stick away, Raven leaves the room and heads downstairs with an upset expression.
