Understanding

I teleported away from Issei's HQ. I tried to get some info and while I did get some I didn't get exactly what I needed

As I go back into my base I sit on the couch and start thinking. 

'How does an organism beat someone that is a god?'

A god is supposedly someone who transcends common sense. You are the best, and there is no one greater. You alone are special. So how can I compete with people like that? Intelligence can get you far, but not far enough. What I need is... Yes, that's it... I need to be stronger. It's an obvious choice but when you beat a god, what is that like? What kind of person will I be when I do? Whatever I may become I know for sure that I will be way worse than I am now.

I then got up and went to the human realm. The few humans left were all still in shock, trying to comprehend what happened.

'Pitiful,' was the only way to describe it

I walk along without a care in the world. How can I get stronger? I can't just seal myself again, if I did that against someone like Samael then there's no way I'm living.

"Maybe... I just have to use luck,"

Luck is an interesting idea, in itself luck does not exist. It is simply things of probability, if you manipulate your odds then your game of luck can turn into an easy game to win.

If I could in my battle with 666 be able to fight to the extent of a god. Then I could use intelligence again. But brute force will trample intelligence at a certain point so I need to get stronger, what I'll do is evolve. I will be a god in name and mind.

(Issei POV)

"Why...WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN!"

I can't stop losing. I'm always behind Yuuki, right when I get stronger he's 10 times stronger. All I do is pick up the crumbs that he leaves behind. Is that the way to get stronger?

Irina was resting right next to me. It was frankly a miracle she was even alive.

I felt the tears rolling down my face. Rias and the group went with Tannin to another part of the underworld that was safer than it was here. So I was alone, but then Irina came back, only to be nearly taken away again. Then a god wants me.

"How do I win?"

I thought and thought but every possibility came up as death. Like a constant grim reaper was just waiting to pounce. If I did nothing then Yuuki would kill me if I did something then Yuuki would kill me. No matter what I did, it would be pointless.

As I sat in despair Irina opened her eyes.

"Issei?"

"Oh," I said as I wiped my eyes "You're awake?"

"Yea, I've been up for a while,"

There was a backward silence before she started talking again

"You want to win... Then win at something!" Irina could only yell laying down but she was being stern "Fight some random and win. Think about what you can do better, and desire to win! If you try and play hero... don't even think about beating Yuuki,"

"You want me to beat some random guy up?"

"That's not the point! just... JUST BE GREEDY!"

Greedy, is the one trait that can be used to describe Yuuki. She wants me to be like him?

"Wait... but-"

"You want to just be a good guy that loses? Be the bad guy that wins! That's what it means to be the best, and if you want that... then win!"

...She's right. I need to be better, Greedier. If I am, then maybe this grim reaper sticking to me can stick to Yuuki.

"I'll let you figure the rest out on your own. Just remember, that if you win keep winning until you realize you can't lose,"

I got up and walked outside. The air down here brushed against my hair.

'Now then. Let us think like Yuuki,'

If I were Yuuki how would I get stronger? I would plan it, simply. relying on luck is something that only an idiot would do. Like the former me. Now to get stronger, I should fight someone who is stronger than me, that, of course, being Vali. Then I'll keep climbing, I'll keep collecting Yuuki's crumbs until I have more crumbs than he does food.

I stood up with new confidence. I also need a strategy for that Goddess. She is the Asmedues which is lust, meaning she will definitely try to seduce me and Yuuki. 

My face went to a quick frown as I thought about the one time I fell for that trap. A fallen with beauty that could not be comparable. If I were Yuuki, then I would act like I fell for it, then kill her once her guard is dropped. 

"I will become a being that can take you down Yuuki, whether I have to be a god or a monster, whatever it takes!" I yell at the top of my lungs.

(Ophis POV)

"It seems like we're gonna be in hot water, You're gonna have to fight 666 with Yuuki alone," I said as I looked at Bigred. 

"Ophis, this is a god class threat, me and you make up the strength of one god, if Yuuki's there he's gonna die. Then I'll die. Besides you're the only one with a soul weapon anyway,"

"I understand but you have to see that we need Yuuki to get stronger. If he can beat 666 with you, he will reach new heights, and be able to truly be a representative,"

In truth, we only went with Asmedues plan to get him stronger because it worked for us. Bigred and I were one soul split into two. I tried to fuse us back a long time ago but our souls already had taken a different shape. It was impossible.

"Dammint, it only that bastard Mammon wasn't so damn nervous,"

Mammon was freaking out lately. Whenever a new god gets announced they become the owner of the skill. So unless you hold the title of a representative then your memory gets wiped and then you get the skill with the new name. You won't even notice it happened. 

Of course, this was a very rare chance. It did not even happen every decillion years but every time it has always been Greed that was taken. No other god had been dethroned since "He" Made us.

"I'll watch the border. You go with Yuuki and take down 666. We'll probably get a little respect hopefully as well if we do,"

"Tch, fine. Just know that if we lose, this universe that we've tried too hard to protect is going to die,"

"I know that,"

With that Bigred teleported away.

'Yuuki... for my sake and everyone else's. Please win and keep winning,'
