The next five weeks were some of the happiest times of Savannah's life. Seb was true to his word and took her out on multiple dates. Dinners, the movies, bowling, even a trip to the zoo, where they walk around hand in hand for hours. He was affectionate and romantic. Several times he'd been out to the gym or to the shop and returned with flowers for her. She found herself falling for him even more.
Her grandparents had returned from their cruise in the first week of November. She'd been over the moon to see them. They looked so healthy and happy. Rufus had returned to live with them, much to Bruno's annoyance. He became very sullen and grumpy once his friend had left.
Savannah had decided that her grandparents should be spared the truth of the reasons for their first marriage. They'd been over the moon to hear the news and Savannah hadn't wanted to upset them. There was no need to tell them now they were planning to make a real go of their marriage.
Telling their parents had been easy. Heike had been over the moon and had finally begun talking to Seb again. Norbert had said he'd known all along that there was something between them.
Savannah's parents were just happy that she was happy. They'd seen her unhappy for too many years.
The plans for their second wedding were coming along nicely. They'd decided not to have a church blessing in the end. Neither of them were religious, so they'd decided on a renewal of their vows. Seb had managed to hire out a large barn conversion that hosted weddings and receptions. They'd had a cancellation and Seb had called at the right time. The date was set. They would be renewing their vows on New Years Eve, which was also Savannah's thirtieth birthday.
Seb had also booked out a whole floor of a posh hotel in Kreuzlingen for his sisters and their families, his brother, his aunt and uncle, Savannah's parents and brother, and also Daisy, Joel and their twins. Savannah couldn't wait to see Daisy again. They had a lot to catch up on. Heike and Norbert would be staying at the house with them like they had before.
With her Nana and Maddy's help Savannah and Seb had begun to plan their special day. They'd renew their vows at 4pm, then they'd have a three course meal with their family and close friends at the same venue, before having an evening reception with more friends, mostly Seb's as Savannah didn't have many close friends. It would end with a fireworks display to see in the New Year, a year that held so much promise.
The girls were going to be bridesmaids, the boys pageboys. Savannah and Seb had already picked out their outfits.
Savannah had picked out her own dress, she was a traditionalist at heart and didn't want Seb to see it before the ceremony. Maddy had gone shopping with her in Zurich to choose it. It had been the first dress she had seen. She'd fallen in love with it on the spot.
Everything had to be sorted out pretty quickly as she, Seb and the kids were flying out to Australia on the second of December. They'd originally been planning to stay there until the 2nd of January but had rearranged their plans so they could renew their vows back home in Switzerland. They would be arriving back on the 28th of December.
Seb had hired them a beachside villa on North Stradbroke Island in Queensland, not far from Brisbane. Heike, Norbert and Seb's brother, Fabian, would be joining them a week before Christmas.
Savannah couldn't wait to get there. She hadn't been to the beach in so long! It would be summer there and she longed to paddle in the ocean. She figured it would be really weird having Christmas in summer though.
Seb was finding it more and more difficult to keep his hands off of Savannah. He was determined though that their first time would be after their vow renewal. He wanted it to be perfect, not in a house full of their kids. To be truthful, he was petrified about it. Would he know how to satisfy her? Harmony had never had any complaints about his technique, but Harmony and Savannah were two completely different women. He had no idea if Savannah liked it slow or fast, tender or rough. He guessed they'd have fun finding these things out about each other.
