"Ji, you're smelling strange.
Not stinking, just.. Different?"

"Maybe it's because I was sick
for such a long time"

Jisung wondered before stuffing
another handful of chips in his
mouth simply because he could.

"Unlikely, you don't smell sour.
It's more of a sweet,
soft but slightly plain smell,
I don't know how to describe it.
And it's mixing with
your normal scent."

The freckled omega pulled his
phone out to type something but
his friend was too focused on
the horror movie playing on
the TV screen.

Minho didn't like horror movies
so Jisung was glad to have a friend
like Felix, someone who didn't care
about snack crumbs on his couch
or movies about haunted houses.

"Maybe it's just the new detergent
Min bought, he's currently in
some sort of crisis so he does
such weird things.
Last time he really wanted
to buy a pink lamp for his
bedside table."

"Ji, I've always told you he's weird.
He has a huge squid plushie
for God's sake!"

But the ravenette could only
giggle at the thought of the big
stuffie his alpha adored so much.

Minho was really one of a kind.

"Ji?"

Alone the sudden seriousness in
Felix's voice scared the one day older.

And the other omega couldn't help
but feel even more pity for his friend
when Jisung turned to him with
his squirrel cheeks stuffed,
chip crumbs on the corners
of his mouth and his big
doe eyes wide open.

"I just googled reasons for scent
changes and sweet mild scent.. Uh.."

"What did it say?"

"An omega's scent often changes
depending on their moods so
sweeter scents are often a sign
that they're in love or in heat.
It can also be an indicator for
upcoming heats or just that the
omega feels very comfortable.
Those sweeter scents are always
a related form to their natural
scent and never cover it.

A different sweet scent is the one
omegas have during pregnancy.
It is often described as warm,
slightly sweet but not as strong
as normal sweet scents and
sometimes like milk with honey.
In the first months it mixes with
the omega's scent but the closer
the omega gets to giving birth,
the heavier the scent will appear
and cover the natural scent.
The pups will all smell like
sweet milk when they're born
and only develop their own
scents after some weeks."

"W-wha… "

Felix didn't even dare to lift
up his eyes from the screen,
too scared to see Jisung's reaction.

"But I… I'm on birth control,
I can't be.."

"Ji, you were sick.
Are you sure the pills stayed
where they were supposed to
be after you took them?"

Jisung shook his head slightly,
tears already gathering in his
eyes as he subconsciously clutched
onto the fluffy blanket that
covered his lap.

"B-but Lix, I.. I can't.."

"Ji, shh.
Take a deep breath for me,
inhale and exhale"

The younger hesitantly took
his best friend's hands and
squeezed them gently but
never broke eye contact.

The last thing they needed right
now was Jisung having a panic attack.

"I'm here, you're okay.
Nothing is confirmed yet-"

"But who eats cheesecake with
Kimchi?! I'm disgusted with myself"

The ravenette cried out,
already breathing hysterically
but his friend immediately
engulfed him into a tight hug,
pushing the older's head in
the crook of his neck.

"You were sick, maybe your
stomach is just having a hard
time liking normal food again."

"This is bullshit a-and you know that..
Lix, I.. I don't know what to do, Min.."

"First of all I want you to know
that no matter what will happen,
I'm here for you. Alright?
We'll manage and Minho loves you,
with a pup or not."

"I- I don't know.."

"Ji, I promise you,
everything will be okay.
If you want we can stop at
the pharmacy on the way to
your house and I get a test
for you, you don't have to
come inside though if you
don't want to.

Everything at your pace, alright?"

"I'm scared, Lix..
..I'm so fucking scared.."

But it'll work out somehow,
no matter what the result is."
