Note: This was inspired to me by the story between Lily and Ryle, after reading It Starts With Us by the brilliant Colleen Hoover. This poem is written by Lily's point of view on how she feels with Ryle.

I fuck up!!!
I am familiar to your dark side.
I hide my fears under a smile
taking care of our daughter
So she won't see that side of you
so she won't fear for her life
by a supposed-to-be caring hand.
I have done enough!
I make you mad with a simple smile on my face
that you never wanted
so you wipe it out
with a hand on my neck.
I can't allow happiness in my life
not when it'll mean your wrath in her life
There's no excuse for me
to feel all the pain you keep on denying
to yourself.
Do it for me.
Do it for you.
Do it for her.
So she can love all the best parts of you
like I once did.
