If I let go of my past pains, I will lose my armor I so deeply learned to love
I will go back to the shy little girl afraid to talk, friends with the dark
Today, I have a mask able to cover me up
An armor of heavy stone
that covers a pain I can't let go
In the past, I was in a battle with the world
Now, I am in a battle with myself
with a coat of mail as protection
From the madness going on in my head.
