In a couple of weeks it would be Christmas. Lucas and Katy were walking around a shopping mall. It had been a few weeks since Katy started her new diet. She felt like it was going well so far but Luke was a little concerned he didn't think that she needed to be on one at all.
He just wished that she was able to see what he saw in her. They had a snow day today so he decided to take her out to have some fun to try and get her mind off some things as well. He even had plans to take her out to dinner soon.
"Are you having a good time with me today Babygirl?" Lucas asked Katy as he wrapped his arms around her. "Yeah I'm actually having a really good day for the first time in a while." She told him. "That makes me happy that your having a good time with me today." He told her.
She smiled at him and quickly looked away. "Katy you deserve to be happy, you know that.... right?" He said to her. "Of course I know that." She said to him. "It's just hard sometimes having to act like everything's fine all the time when it's not." She told him. Her stomach did a flip flop and her chest started to get tight.
"Come here it's okay Katy, let's go somewhere more private." He said as they started walking back towards his car. She was doing her best to control her breathing. The cold air was making her shiver. Luke got them inside his car as quick as he could.
"Here you need to drink." He told her as he handed her a bottle of water. "T-t-thanks." Katy stuttered as she grabbed the water bottle from him. She started drinking the water. It wasn't helping much only making her feel nauseated because she hasn't eaten since the morning.
But she managed to finish the bottle of water. It settled in her stomach only making her feel more queasier. "You look pale and you feel very warm." He told her concerned. "I'm fine it's just really hot in here that's all." She lied. "Your not fine you basically just had a panic attack in the mall and your very pail and your really warm." He explained to her.
"I'm used to this Luke, you don't need to pitty me." She said to him. "Do your parents even notice how your breaking inside?" He asked her. She shook her head which meant no. "I wish there was something that I could do to make you feel better." He said as he let her cry into his chest.
"Luke you care about me so much and I want you to know that I care about you too." She explained to him. "I know you do." He told her. "I'm sorry I ruined the rest of the day." She apologized to him. "You didn't ruin anything." He told her. "I actually have dinner reservations for us." He explained. "You didn't have to do that." She told him nervously. "But I wanted to." He told her.
"Thanks but you really didn't have to I would have been fine with just going back to your place." She explained to him. Just then her stomach started to growl. She was clearly embarrassed by what had just happened. "You need to eat Katy." He told her in a soft voice. "I know." She told him. "And it's okay to eat when your hungry." He reminded her. Her checks flushed with 'embarrassment.
"I know but I didn't get to workout yet." She told him. "You already worked out this morning Katy." He told her. "Did you eat anything today?" He asked her. "I ate a cup of Greek yogurt and an apple this morning." She told him in that case she was telling the truth. "You didn't eat lunch when I did so please Babygirl let me take you out to dinner." He said to her.
"But I'm not hungry." She lied. "You know I can tell when your lying and besides I already made reservations." He told her. "Fine you know me too well, let's go eat." She said finally giving in. "And by the way dinner is on me tonight." He explained.
"Thanks, but I can pay for my meal." She told him. "Next time I'll let you pay for me." He told her. "Okay fine. She agreed. The rest of the car ride was silent. Not even the radio was on they both kind of enjoyed the silence. It was sort of calming in a way.
