"Farewell to Yesterday"
We laughed, we loved, and we made plans for the future,
A future so bright, that nothing could obscure it.
With eyes filled with hope, we dreamed of our tomorrow,
And whispered to each other, "to more years with you".
But life has a way, of changing the script,
Of twisting the story, that once seemed perfect.
And now, as I stand here, I'm faced with the truth,
That what we once had, has crumbled to dust.
The promises we made, now just echoes in the air,
The dreams we shared, now just a memory fair.
And though it hurts to say, I must face the reality,
That "to more years with you" has become "no more years with you".
It's hard to believe, that love can slip through our hands,
And leave us with nothing, but heartache and strands.
But I must accept, that sometimes love just fades,
Leaving us with nothing, but memories in its wake.
So here's to the past, to what once was true,
And to the lessons learned, from the end of me and you.
Though it may hurt, but I know I will survive,
And find a new love, that will keep me alive.
