"Regrets of Love"

I sit here in the quiet, with thoughts of you in my mind,
And memories of the moments, we left behind.
I think of all the laughter, and all the tears we shared,
And wonder why I let it go, why I wasn't more aware.

I think of all the times, I took you for granted,
And the love that I neglected, that I never planted.
I think of all the chances, I let slip away,
And the future that we could have had, that will never be today.

I regret the words I said, and the things I left unsaid,
And the love that I let slip away, that now lies dead.
I regret the moments, when I didn't try my best,
And the way I let our love, just fade away and rest.

But now it's too late, to make it right,
And all I have are my regrets, through the long, lonely night.
So I'll cherish what we had, and the love we shared,
And try to find a way, to make amends and repair.
