Chapter XXIII

Alexa's POV:

I hopped out of the shower and went to grab clothes from the bench in the bathroom when I realised that my clothes aren't here. I slapped my forehead, scolding myself for forgetting to bring some in. I opened the bathroom door an inch, expecting Liam in bed but there was nobody. Just a bunch clothes on the bed.

I cautiously walked to the clothes and picked them up before walking back into the bathroom with them. I put them on while trying not to slip in the water on the floor. There was a blue hairbrush sitting on the bench close by, so I picked it up and started brushing my hair, deciding to leave it down. I walked out of the bathroom and into the bedroom, swinging the bathroom door wide open.

"Ow!" Was all I heard, along with a thump. I gasped and moved away from the door to see Liam rubbing his forehead.

"I'm so sorry, Liam!" I said attempting to move his hand to see the damage. Liam looked at me and smiled, trying to make me feel better.

"Are you ready," Liam asked. I nodded my head before looking down at myself. Suddenly, I was lifted off the ground, causing me to yelp. Liam threw me over his shoulder and started walking down the hall. I laughed while hitting his back playfully.

"Liam! Put me down!" I yelled while giggling. Liam shook his head, a huge smile playing on his face. I could feel my face going red with how hard I laughed. Liam walked past the people in his pack, waving at them as they either laughed or stared at me.

All too soon, Liam put me down and the fun was done. I smiled, looking around to see where he had taken me. We were outside of the pack house where Jacob and Lilly were waiting. Lilly ran to me, laughing and engulfed me into a hug. I hugged her back, enjoying the friendly embrace.

"What are we doing outside?" I asked while turning to Liam. He stopped talking to Jacob and looked at me, a huge smile pulling at his lips. Lilly looked away from me, attempting to contain her smile but I noticed.

"We – as in you and I – are going somewhere," Liam said while wrapping his arms around me. I smiled, excited to see what he had planned for us for the day.

"Okay, why are they here?" I asked, gesturing to both Lilly and Jacob. They looked away, still smiling. I could feel myself start getting suspicious and squinted my eyes. All I could wonder was, 'what had he planned...'

"They were helping me do something," Liam said. I stayed staring at him, squinting as a car pulled up near us. It was a red convertible; the roof had been put down. I started laughing again, moving backwards as Liam moved towards me, picking me up and put me over his shoulder again.

The guy who drove the car to us hopped out and held the passenger door open as Liam placed me in. I hit the passenger's seat and laughed, watching Liam walk around the front and jump in. He started the car, giving me enough time to pull my seatbelt on. Liam started driving, his seatbelt left off.

I was a little worried for him as driving without one was dangerous, but he's a Lycan... hopefully nothing will happen, and he will be fine. I looked to the front and watched the trees go by. It felt like we were driving for hours when he finally flicked the radio on. A familiar song came on the radio and Liam started singing to it, trying his hardest to be good. I giggled at how horrible he sounded, trying not to make it obvious. He stopped the car a few seconds later.

We were in a clearing that had a tree stump in the middle and a circle of trees around the outside. It had a small river coursing through it. The light danced off the water, making it look like it had been littered with glitter. I smiled at how beautiful it was, a feeling of fulfilment spreading through me. Liam jumped out of the car and walked to the passenger's side, opening the door for me. I hopped out and did a slow three-sixty, allowing me to fully take in the amazing space.
