FROM THE MOMENT Daenaera Velaryon was born, her very being invited chaos.
Being the first born child and sole daughter of Rhaenyra Targaryen, she was often fawned over for her identical features to her mother: striking white hair and fair pale skin. It wasn't until her brothers were born did rumours begin to be whispered amongst the corridors of the Red Keep, especially circulating the truth of the parental lineage of Rhaenyra's children, her sons and daughter alike being picked apart for their differences.
For the protection of her children, the Heir buried the truth of who their fathers were for many years, especially from the children themselves. Despite her brothers sharing their father in Harwin Strong, Daenaera was the only daughter of Daemon and Rhaenyra Targaryen, and the only child they shared for many years to come.
During their time in King's Landing, however, the children could only get up to what they knew best: trouble. As Daenaera grew with age and her responsibilities widened, she found the importance of allies and friendship, especially in someone as unlikely as who some would call a supposed enemy: Aemond Targaryen. Even though her loyalties remained with her mother, her small yet strong heart seemed to draw her back to her uncle, and he to her.
But, as the fickle game of children's love, friendship and arguments take place during Rhaenyra and her court's time at King's Landing, the real game of war was brewing behind the scenes.
As years pass and the distance grows between the Greens and the Blacks, Daenaera at first could never seem to misplace her childhood devotion for her closest friend, Aemond. But once an unforgivable act is sealed, Daenaera decides to turn her back to that childhood love, especially as her duty of securing alliances for her Queen comes forth in the form of Lord Cregan Stark. Despite it starting out as business, history can never seem to stop from repeating itself, especially where love is involved.
