The stars had a party, with the night as the host.
And amongst all of them, you shone brighter than most.
I walked along the shore whilst admiring your soft glow,
Wishing that someday, you would be mine to hold.
Every night, rain or shine, it's you I'd try to find,
Your soft shine as you glow in the dark night sky.
Whenever I see you, I put my hand up high,
Hoping someday, I'll see you floating close by.
For now, I can only watch you from afar,
As you slowly dance along with the other stars.
Maybe you've found your love amongst them all,
As I watch on, with pieces of my heart beginning to fall.
Maybe someday I'll join you in death,
As we drift along, finally getting some rest.
But I know that dream is so far away,
So I can only hope to see you for another day.
As I drift off again into a good night's sleep,
I look up at you, wishing you some very good dreams.
I know you'll never hear it, and I know you won't care.
I just hope you're happy with your love, high up in the air.
