Chapter 5 Rough and Rowdy

The Rescue bots recruits loved to play with each other during free time. The enjoyed a lot. However one thing that, Hot shot, Hoist, Medix, Whirl and Scorch didn't like was the way Wedge played.

The recruits didn't enjoy playing sport like games or games the required one to do physical activity with Wedge. Because Wedge played rough and rowdy. He was not to careful and got carried away and crazy when playing those games.

He really could play very rough. It wasn't enjoyable to the other recruits especially because Wedge didn't realize he was being rough. He didn't even realize his friends nearly got hurt several times. He also didn't see they were not having fun.

It was so frustrating for them. They just didn't know how to say to him that he was playing rough. They felt he wouldn't believe them or not listen to them.

However one day that was soon to change. They were playing a game with lots of running and Wedge knocked Hot shot to the ground. But he didn't do it on purpose. He was just playing all rough and rowdy as usual. It kind of went too far this time.

"Oof," Hot shot said. He sat up and noticed he had a dent on his arm with some scratches and a crack. It hurt a lot too. "I think I will take a little break," he said.

He got up and went into the academy and went over to Blades and Ratchet and showed them his arm. "How did this happen?" Ratchet asked as he was fixing it.

"Wedge knocked me to the ground, it wasn't on purpose, but whenever we play games with a lot physically activity or sports he gets all rough and rowdy." Hot shot answered the medic who was working on his arm.

"So Wedge plays rough?" Blades asked Hot shot. He was concerned about this.

"Yes, he doesn't realize me and others don't like it and to make matters worse he doesn't realize he is doing it I think or cares," Hot shot told them.

"I think we need to have a talk with Wedge," Ratchet said looking at Blades after bandaging Hot shot's arm.

"Sounds good to me," Blades said with a nodded.

They went to the lounge where the other recruits were. "Hey what happened to your arm Hot shot?" Wedge asked coming up.

"You are what happened," Hot shot answered him.

"What do you mean?" Wedge asked him looking confused.

"Wedge can we talk to you about the way you play with the others?" Ratchet asked him.

"What's wrong with the way I play with the others?" Wedge asked. "I just play with them the way I play with my brothers," he said. "they are a lot bigger than me so I have to play hard if I want to play with them," he explained.

"Well now we know why you play like you do," Blades said. "Because that explains it," he said.

"Well Wedge, the thing is your fellow recruits are not as big or old as your brothers, they are your age and size," Ratchet said.

"What does that have to do with anything?" Wedge asked looking confused.

"Well the way you play is a little too rough for them," Ratchet said.

"Yes you play really rough and rowdy," Hoist said coming up.

"Yes you make it so hard to play sports and active games in a way that is safe that we are scared of getting hurt," Medix told him.

"Yes you are like a wrecking ball and you don't seem to care that we might not be having fun," Whirl explained.

"Yes and you hurt me today when you knocked me down while we were playing," Hot shot said. "It really hurt," he said.

"Wedge you got to remember that when playing with someone you age and size or smaller than you, you need to not play rough, because you are stronger them," Ratchet said. "Because you could end up hurting them," he explained.

"I won't play with my friends again," Wedge said getting upset and hiding.

"Wedge that isn't what I meant," Ratchet said and went over to him. "Wedge, what I meant is be careful when playing with them," he told him. "because you must remember you are stronger than them," he told him. "Bulkhead had to learn to be careful when playing and having fun with others in our base because he was stronger than them," he explained.

"Yes and when I met Boulder he wasn't too careful either because he was stronger than us too," Blades said. "If they can learn to be careful so can you," he told Wedge.

"You're right maybe I can," Wedge said. "I am just so used to the way I play with my brothers so how can I play with others with out being so rough?" he asked.

"It will just take practice and I am sure your friends will help you," Ratchet said.

"We sure will," Hoist said.

"You got that right," Whirl said.

"You can count on us," Hot shot said.

"We will do this together," Medix said.

"We've got your back," Scorch said.

"So let's start," Wedge said.

It took a lot of work to teach Wedge to control his strength. His friends and teachers were all helping him learn. It was not an easy task to say the least. But he was eager to keep trying. Soon enough he was able to play without being rough and rowdy. He was very proud of himself too and his friends and teachers were proud as well.
