Race to the Underworld

Bella and her crew were loaded into the back of a truck that took them directly to the Hollywood sign. Everyone began looking around for the entrance. Luke found it. It was a Greek symbol that led the way to like a cavern entrance. Bella immediately began to feel claustrophobic. Luke and Clarisse glanced at her worriedly because her breathing began to pick up. Percy looked over and took Bella's hand as the way they came in caved in behind them. Bella began to panic. 

"Bella, breathe." Percy said 

Bella began to sink to the ground with Percy trying to get her attention.  Clarisse shoved Percy out the way when he was failing to help Bella. Clarisse slapped her and snapped her out of the trance she was in. Bella sat there blinking up at Clarisse for a minute. 

"Clarisse!" Percy shouted 

"You back?! You good?!" Clarisse demanded of Bella, who was being helped up by Luke as she massaged her jaw

"Yea, I'm back. Thanks." Bella said 

"Wait that worked?!" Annabeth said 

"That looked like it hurt." Grover said 

"That's why it worked. I was too wrapped up in my own fears but I needed to be snapped out of it. We got a mission to complete." Bella said 

The group kept going down the tunnel until the Charon. Percy insulted him by calling him Chiron by mistake. Grover offered the wrong kind of bribe with paper money. Luke and Clarisse were talking with Annabeth on finding another possible way into the Underworld. Bella suddenly felt a heavy thud in her backpack and found a sac of drachmas. Bella gave Persephone a prayer in thanks before pulling out a handful and leaving it for the souls that had been waiting to cross.  Bella stepped forward and everyone turned to watch her work.

"I do apologize for the misunderstanding between yourself and my company, Mr. Charon. We seek passage into the Underworld but we are willing to pay of course. After all I hear that Lord Hades tends to underpay his staff." Bella said holding out the handful of drachmas

Charon looked at her and pocketed the drachmas before everyone piled into the gondola. Charon spent the time talking of how the humans destroyed the River Styx with their broken promises. Bella felt saddened by that. She could see the realm of torment that some souls went to. She could hear the eerie screams. Luke and Clarisse decided to lighten the mood a bit and prank Percy and his friends. The souls that were floating around decided to join in the fun.
