My mother praised me for another perfect test score, showing me off to all of her rich friends. "What did I do to deserve such a perfect daughter?" she questioned.
In all honesty, my mother rarely interacted with me. The woman merely expected me to meet her expectations and keep her secrets, and if she didn't say anything, neither would I.
