((see what i did with the title))

"How does that work?" Caitlyn raised an eyebrow.

I could see Mabel packing up assorted "helpful" items out of the corner of my eye. "Long story." I told her simply.

"And I wanna hear it." She narrowed her eyes at me.

"Drop it." Pacifica hissed at her, glaring.

"Geez. Stop it." I laughed lightly. "I don't need defending."

Both girls fell silent. I took up the sock again once I noticed Mabel was ready.

Floating the sock next to her, I poked her again, and again she screamed. "Hey! No fair!" She laughed.

"I think it's fair. Let's go." I couldn't help but grin.

Giggling, Mabel hopped up and walked out the door. I flew through the window and met her at the door.

"I'm ready!" She fist pumped the air.

It was dusk, not quite dark. Mabel stole the golf cart and barreled through town at top speeds, and Pacifica, Caitlyn and I actually struggled to keep up. We made it to the school really quickly.

"Aight!" Mabel put on a cheesy accent, then broke into a fit of giggles. "Okay, okay." She returned her voice to normal. "Which window is the art room?"

I pointed the sock towards a window nearby. "That one."

She nodded and went on. "Wait outside the window. Wish me luck."

She clambered into the open window and disappeared to the left. I grinned. This was so far going pretty well. But Mabel was in Bill's own territory now, so we could only hope for the best.

I was so caught up in considering what the worst case scenario would be that I didn't see Caitlyn approach me. "Soooo...care to explain now?"

I screamed and sprung backwards, almost through the wall. "Caitlyn, geez! You scared me!"

"Haha, yeah." She laughed. "That was kinda the point. But seriously, what's with your secrecy. Huh?"

I sighed. Caitlyn had a knack for being persistent, I'd give her that, but being annoying comes with persistence. "I don't need to tell you."

"Yeah, but-" Caitlyn started to reply, but she was caught off by a screech of delight.

"Guys, come in! I think I found it!" Mabel screamed from inside.

I reclaimed the sock from the ground and went in, Caitlyn and then Iacocca following me.

"Look!" Mabel pointed to the kiln, where a secret door had been opened to reveal a literal pile of bodies.

I laughed. "You think you found it?"

My friends and I flew in, and after a lot of looking Pacifica and I managed to find ourselves, and we both slipped in. I sat up and grinned. This was much better, I hated the mindscape.

I guessed Caitlyn couldn't find hers, because no other movement could be seen. Pacifica got up and dusted herself off. "Where's Caitlyn?" She asked.

"Still looking." I replied. "Let's help her."

We pushed bodies aside, nervously looking. After about five minutes, Pacifica screamed.

"I found it!" She cheered.

Seconds later, a third girl sat up. Caitlyn let out a sigh of relief.

"This is nice." She grinned and turned to me. "Now I can physically torture all your secrets out of you!"

I laughed. She reminded me of a dark Mabel.

We crawled our of the small hidden door and out into the main art room. I looked around. Mabel was gone. Panic ensued.

"Oh my gosh, where's Mabel?" I whispered.

I looked over to the door to see a very familiar man holding her with one hand over her mouth and another around her middle, grinning evilly.

"And where do you think you're going?"
