ᴛᴡᴇɴᴛʏ ᴇɪɢʜᴛ

It was finally the weekend. Which means I can chill and relax.

"Morning" I tickled Cordelia's belly and she giggled in return

"We're gonna go to the park today" I picked her up out of bed

I went to my closet to get us both something to wear then had the bright idea to ask Jordan if he wanted to come.

It's been two weeks since he'd left the hospital and from what I'd heard he was a little down so maybe being out of the house will help .

At the Baker house

I took Cordelia out of her car seat and knocked on the door which was answered by Liv.

"Hey!" I hugged her
"Hey! And hello to you" She smiled at the baby in my arms

"Where's Jordan?" I asked
"On the couch and playing videos games like he's been doing ever since he came back" She let out a long exhausted sigh

"What? Oh my god" I stared in awe

Jordan was on the couch in pajama pants and a white tee playing video games with snacks surrounding him, and he smelt like a moldy box of trash.

"You know, I heard vitamin D is good for the body" Olivia spoke from behind me
"The real kind, from the sun" I added

"Jordan?" Olivia spoke once more
"What?" He groaned

"Dude it's been nearly two weeks of you on the same couch, in the same pajamas, in that same spot" Liv said

"Ok, and why do you care?" He sassed
"Because you smell like a sewer" I gagged
"No, you were cleared for light activity" She reminded him

"J, I know it's not being back out on the field with your helmet but a start" I encouraged

"Yeah, playing injustice too is my light physical activity guys" He continued his game

"Have you heard from Simone?" Liv asked with a slight eye roll

"No" He hesitantly responded "She's off the grid. Mom snitched about our marriage to her parents before we had a chance to tell them ourselves, so I'm sure they've got her convent in Tanzania by now"

"No, I'm sure they found a convent closer" Liv responded sarcastically

Ms. Baker then came out of her office on the phone talking about the marriage and Jordan instantly threw his head back.

"You know I can hear you right" He spoke
"You know what" She began to walk closer

"Hey! Let's be quiet" Coach walked in before bringing Ms. Baker aside to talk

"Um, I came over to take you to the park. Y'know to spend time with your daughter" I said

"I'll pass"

"No, you won't. Go get up and get dressed so we can go" I pulled him from the spot on the couch
"Ugh" He groaned before stomping upstairs

"In one try?" Olivia spoke in shock
"One try, it's the mom powers" I shrug

"Take a shower too!" I shouted

Moments later Jordan came down in sweats and a hoodie.

"No, absolutely not. Go back upstairs" I followed him

"Jordan I know you're mad about the injury and the fact that you can't speak to your lil' wife or whatever but I am trying to be helpful and take your mind off of it and also trying to help my daughter spend some time with her dad who she loves so get dressed appropriately for a children's park and act like you have some sense" I lectured before stomping out

"Thank you! I was afraid he'd never leave the couch...like ever" Liv sighed
"Just doing what I can" I shrug
"That's why we're besties" We high fived

"Ready" He sighed

He was wearing jeans and a black shirt with Delia's favorite design and some black shoes.

"You look nice" I complimented
"You smell nice too" Liv said in shock
"Let's go" He directed

I took the baby and followed behind him.

"I'll drive" He insisted
"You sure?" I asked
"Yeah I'm sure" I nodded

It was mostly a silent car ride till we were a good 5 minutes away from the park.

"J, why're you so quiet?" I worried
"I have a lot going on" He calmly answered
"I know" I tried to be understanding

As he was about to speak again Cordelia started clapping her hands.

"Which is why I'm glad you guys are here" He almost smiled
"Did you almost smile? Shocking" I joked
"Shut up" He chuckled a little

"Jordan Baker laughing after a freak accident?! That's some news" I gasped
"Ok we're here" Jordan parked the car

At the actual park

"I've never been to the park with a baby...what do we do?" I said
"Slide" Jordan picked her up and ran to the slide

"Weee" He slid down with one hand around her and another in the air
"Are you sure that was for her or you" I chuckled
"Both" He climbed back

"You're literally a child" I chuckled
"Come on...swings!" Jordan ran to the swings

He placed Cordelia in one of the baby swings and lightly pushed her.

"Swing" He gestured to the regular swing next to the baby swing

I slowly walked and sat down on the swing and tried to keep the same pace as them but with every second I got higher and higher.

"Look at my mommy. She's cool huh?" I heard Jordan tell our baby as I swung

Cordelia responded with a loud giggle.

"Whew!" I shouted as I came down
"I think she's getting tired" I spoke
"Yeah, froyo on the way home?" Jordan suggested
"Yeah" I agreed

This is a filler chapter cuz I feel bad for leaving y'all hanging 😭 But Merry Christmas Eve/Christmas🎄❤️
