I like being cold. I like that
I'm tough and I'm guarded, while
It's a form of self sabotage, it's my
Way of protection.
And I like it.
I like keeping people out.
Even though the girl beneath the surface,
The one that craves to be loved and
Yearns to be held—
The one that's strong but soft and feels
So deeply, is neglected and suppressed,
She cries to be seen but no one knows her name.At least they didn't.
Now, from one ounce of attention,
She collided with me
And now I'm confused.
I liked it when I was alone and protected.
I hate it now I feel vulnerable and conflicted
