𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝟐𝟏

Bella was upstairs plotting plans with Reginald for the remainder of the night. He caught on to her strange act but decided not to comment on it as the girl was stuck in her head, the memories of the night flashing in her mind.  

Negative thoughts filtered through her brain at the events that were about to occur, what was she meant to do? What was she meant to do when the family she grew to care to were gone, what was she meant to do when her best friends, Lila and Sloane, were dead? Worst of all, how is she meant to go on when the boy she loves is gone, when she murders him?

It was the following day, everyone was beyond hungover. Reginald had explained to Bella that he was going outside to see Five, her heart dropped, her father saw the look of longing in her eyes but didn't mention it, he knew about the love each had for the other, it was obvious to everyone.

Lila had found the little demon laying in the middle of some random hallway and dragged her downstairs to where the rest of the family were, not before long Five and Reginald arrived back.

After the confession last night five wouldn't even glance in the girl's direction. 

Bella late last night confided in Lila about what Five told her, she couldn't tell Sloane due to wedding night traditions. To say Lila was very amused by this whole ordeal was an understatement, she couldn't really believe five had basic human emotions such as love.

Lila quickly noticed five avoiding and couldn't help but utter what an asshole, this did make a little smile spread on the demon's face. 

Everybody but Allison, Bellatrix and Lila cheered when five came through the doors, obviously, the cheers were sarcastic as they laughed about the time traveller's little speech.

"I especially liked when you referred to us as a family bound by destiny and love," Viktor spoke which made the girl giggle at fives misfortune.

"It was the booze talking. In the light of day, you're all still deplorable." Five was quick to explain, of course, he couldn't own up to having actual feelings, Bella couldn't help but scoff which caused the boy to finally look at her.

Fives breath hitched as he loosened his tie, his eyes went wide before he quickly glanced somewhere else, memories of him confessing his love sticking in his mind.

"And your day's about to get worse." Reginald finally spoke up. "The Norse has seven sleepers. The Blackfoot, seven stars. As a boy, I heard the legend of the seven bells. All these stories are the same. The village is under threat by flood, by fire, by a night that never ends. A shaman brings his disciples to a sacred cave. He tells them if they can ring the seven magic bells, the village will be saved, and all will be restored just as it was."

He droned on and on and everyone was getting bored, there was no meaning to this. Bella thought the old age must be finally getting to him.

"Reggie? Can we get a little fewer Brothers Grimm and a little more "What the hell does this have to do with us?"" Lila finally spoke up for everyone.

"There is a truth to these myths." Reginald defends himself, "None of you can dent what's going on around us. All of the existence will be gone by the end of the day, but whoever or whatever, wove together space and time, they left a way to put things back together if the universe ever faced total annihilation. There is a portal in the universe. I built this hotel around it, and on the other side is the answer."

"And... we're supposed to, what? Just stroll in there, ring some bells, and fix this shit?" Luther asked

"Sarcasm aside, you are mostly right. Except for the guardian." Reginald answered,

"What kind of guardian?"

"It is a force to be reckoned with."

"See? Yeah. This is where you lose me." Luther said exasperated,

"This is where he loses you? I checked out at the sacred cave." Lila said honestly.

"Why would the builders of this "back door" need to have a guardian?" Viktor asked

Sloane perked up excitedly, "Ah! To protect it from people who want to use it for nefarious means."

"That is correct Sloane."

"So I guess it's gonna take all of us to defeat the thing protecting the bells," Allison explained as five finally had to but in.

"You're actually buying his crap?"

"How are a guardian and bells any crazier than time-travelling briefcases and assassins with cartoon masks?" Allison smartly replied, which made Bella clap loudly agreeing with her.

"Actually she's got you there," Luther said making five sighs, done with all this bullshit.

Bella let out a giggle. All eyes turned to her questioningly.

"Who actually cares?! Seems dangerous. I'm in! Let's kill some guardian ass with our awesome powers, save the world and just finally have a bit of peace. Plus my powers have been really good recently and I haven't killed anything in months! Im excited!" Everyone looked at her agape, some even beginning to think she is going mad, "What can I say? I'm a bloody demon!"

"No! I'm not letting you do that." Five demanded standing up, causing Bella to replicate his actions, her eyes turning black in anger as Lila tried to pull her down, Ben quickly ran over to her, whispering something in her ears making her seem less rigid, her eyes coming back to normal.

"What do you mean not letting me do that? You're not my boyfriend, you can't tell me what I can and can't do. Just leave me alone five, stop causing unnecessary drama!" Bella said harshly before storming of the let out some steam.

Lila, Ben and Sloane looked on proudly, "Idiot." Ben said before walking in Bella's direction, he quickly stopped where Reginald was "I'm in." before he left too.

"Have I ever said how much I love that crazy little monster?" Lila asked

Bella and Ben were chilling at the bar, Bella filling him in with all the gossip that had been going on lately as he stood there gobsmacked.

"I'm sorry, he told you he loved you and then stood you up?! Be for real. What a bitch." Ben said putting a hand on his heart in shock, "But the real question is, do you love him back?"

"Yes. Yes, I do." Bella answered without missing a beat shocking not only Ben but herself.

"But what are you meant to do about your father wanting you."

"Father?" A voice asked as the two turned their heads to see five pop up out of nowhere before a cocky grin spread across his face, "So you love me huh?"

"You were spying on us?!" 

"No, I was spying on you demon."

Ben quickly got up, noticing the sexual tension, and got his martini glass, "I'm gonna leave you lovebirds to it." Before leaving in a hurry.

"She loves me." Five said to himself, a dumb smile on his face. He felt a hand on his arm causing him to look over at the girl who was now all of a sudden right next to him. 

"Yes."

"Please, please don't fight this Guardian thing."
