In this book, Lo'ak has a twin sister named Jamil.
She is the older twin and thinks more rationally than Lo'ak, she's a great hunter but her father doesn't let her because she's 'not' supposed to.

Jamil's pov
I watched as the ilu swam toward me instantly and nuzzled its face against mine. I smiled, "that was fast." Aonung looked surprised. I rolled my eyes before going into position. We technically looked like pros and I finally hopped off of my ilu which is now named Maia and thanked her with a pat.
"You're a natural." Aonung smirked.
He was a bit closer than I expected before I pushed him lightly away, "I like my personal space." I walked away to watch my brothers perform horribly.
"What's your name?" The future chief asked me. "Jamil." I continued walking till I dove underneath to swim with the beautiful ilu of the sea, they circled me as I spun in one place. They hummed a melody before they left.
Kiri led me to a secluded area where nobody was.
Ika swimming around us with beautiful colors and shades. "It's beautiful" I signed. I didn't notice in the corner of my eye that Aonung and Rotxo were watching us as we swam around and admired to depths of the water.
