It took Matt a while to spot Felicity under her disguise. He wasn't sure if he was impressed or confused by the complexities of her attire.
Normally when celebrities avoid the paparazzi, it was usually wearing a cap, sunglasses and a hat. Not for Felicity because that would be too simple.
Not only did she have her hair clipped up under a bucket hat, but she was also actually wearing a blonde wig. Matt assumed it was in case stray hairs escaped the hat the integrity of her disguise was still intact.
She didn't wear sunglasses because it wasn't necessary, the rims of her hat shaded her eyes and the rest of her face that wasn't covered by her mask.
At first, Matt thought that her coat was to hide her physique but Felicity explained that she had never lived anywhere except for Southern California so the chill autumn was absolutely freezing to her. He made sure to turn the heater on in the car so she wouldn't turn to ice in the passenger seat.
The suburbs felt unfamiliar to Felicity, almost like a fantasy only found in books. The irony wasn't lost on her. Many dream of living in the city from the calm, almost boring outskirts. Although she enjoyed living close to the city, her heart warmed at the sight of homes and greenery. It's what she imagined being normal felt like.
The car ride was spent listening to Matt's playlist - she begged him to not play any of her songs - and him being excited about Nick's reaction to meeting her. She's always wondered what it was like to have a sibling, a built-in friend. Matt lived the life she wanted and just for today, she indulged in this fantasy.
"What's the plan?" Felicity asked once they reached his house.
"We'll wait for him to come downstairs," Matt replied. He rang the doorbell and banged on the door. "NICK! OPEN THE DOOR! I LEFT MY KEYS AT HOME."
A loud grunt was heard from the inside and Matt placed a finger in front of his smile, more of a reminder to himself to not burst out in laughter.
Nick's voice loudened as he got closer towards the front door. "Matt, you're actually an idiot. I don't know how you leave the house without your keys what if I wasn't home and—"
"Surprise!" Matt interrupted him.
Nick stared at Felicity as she waved at him, and then slammed the door in her face.
"He's excited I swear..."
