A month went by faster than I thought it would. I was at the airport waiting for Carmen. The flight information boards just told me her flight landed. I felt nervous, or excited or maybe both. No one made me feel the way that Carmen made me feel.
I felt my phone vibrate in my hand. I looked down to see a text message from Carmen. She was letting me know that the plane landed and that she couldn't wait to see me.
I paced back and forth. I was nervous, but for what?
I finally stopped pacing and looked down at my phone. The second I looked up I saw her. I felt myself smile.
"Ciao amore mio" Carmen smiled.
I responded with a kiss.
"I've missed you." Carmen smiled.
"I've missed you too." I felt myself smiling.
"Well this is very different from the first time we met here." Carmen smiled.
"Definitely." I was looking at her, still not believing that this was actually reality. "Shall we go home?"
"Yes!"
With that we were on our way home.
