Ally was watching the street lights come and go out the window. When she was younger she would read in the car. And when it got dark, she would wait for the street lights to pass to see the words. Ally smiled at the thought.
And then they were on Ally's street and in her driveway.
"Thanks for the ride Romeo." Ally said, unbuckling to get out of the car.
"Ally wait." Romeo said, grabbing her hand.
Ally licked her lips, remembering what Ashton had told her earlier about Romeo asking her out.
"Romeo I don't like you like that." She blurted out before he could say anything.
He gave her a puzzled look, "How do you know-?"
"Ashton told me earlier there was a rumor or something about you asking me out. Romeo I thought we were just friends?" Ally said, taking her hand back.
"Do you not see the way I look at you? The things I do for you?" He asked in disbelief.
Ally rubbed her temples, this was too much to think about while drunk.
"Romeo, can we just be friends?" Ally asked.
Romeo sighed, and turned on the radio, "Fine." and he looked away from Ally.
Ally didn't say anything else, she just opened the door.
"Ally what are you doing with him?" Romeo asked, still not looking at her.
"I don't know."
Ally went straight to bed, not bothering to change, but she fell asleep with with the scent of Griffin on her clothes.
She didn't wake till late in the morning, sunshine pouring through her window. She sat up groggily, seeing a note and a cup of coffee on the nightstand. She immediately grabbed the coffee, it was still warm. The note said that her parents were both going out for the day and that Ally can just enjoy herself and that they hope the party was good.
After she finished her coffee she got up to have a shower and change into clean clothes. The events of last night were coming back and it made Ally's head spin. Did Romeo and I really argue? Was Griffin serious about liking me? What would I have told him if Romeo hadn't interrupted? These thoughts filled Ally's mind as she settled in her bed with Netflix.
Her phone was vibrating with messages but Ally didn't have any responsibilities today, which meant keeping her problems away until Monday. At least Gossip Girl was always there for her.
In the middle of the episode she was on, her mind wandered to Griffin. He said he had liked her, really really liked her to be exact. It was then Ally decided to go to Griffin's place to tell him about how she felt.
Leaving a note for her parents in case they were home before Ally, she rushed out of the house. When she got to his house, she just walked in. She had been here enough time to know she was welcome. She walked up the stairs to his bedroom. She knocked but there was no answer so she opened the door quietly. Griffin was asleep on the bed, hair tousled and one arm off the mattress.
"Griff?" Ally said, walking closer.
Griffin's eyes lazily opened and he yawned, "Ally? What are you doing here?"
Griffin sat up stretching, his arms flexing, momentarily distracting Ally.
"I was here because I-" Ally started.
"Griffin who's this?" A girl asked from the doorway. She was unmistakably wearing one of Griffin's shirts over probably nothing.
No one said anything.
"I was just going to tell you that I can finish the english assignment." Ally mumbled, turning to leave without looking at anyone.
"Ally wait." She heard Griffin call, but it was too late. Tears streaming down her faced, she ran to her car. She drove a couple blocks over and cried. She hadn't known Griffin meant so much to her till now. And that was the worst part. It had to take something like this to show Ally she loved him.
