"nobody." alex said.
"sweet kicks, papito!" lydia said.
"abuelita, take a picture of me, because cherry is being a jealous hater." alex took back his phone, and handed it to lydia.
lydia snapped a picture of alex.
"what's going on south of your ankles, buddy?" penelope questioned. "aren't those the expensive sneakers i said you couldn't have?"
"they were a gift.. from my admirers." alex said.
cherry and lydia turned around.
"guys.." penelope began.
"i can spend my money how i want too." lydia said.
"how about contributing to the rent?"
"i'm a senior! i'm on a fixed income!"
"mami, i am trying to teach alex the value of a dollar. you need to pay for those, or send them back."
