"Do you know what the best thing about chili dogs is?" Sonic nudged Tails and grinned.
Tails raised a brow and smiled, "What is it?" He wanted to hear it even though he knew it would be something silly.
He sniffed his chili dog in delight and exhaled, "You can eat it whenever you want even if it's too chilly outside."
Tails laughed, "That was terrible!"
"Yeah, but you laughed so it counts as a point for me." He popped it into his mouth, licking his fingers.
Tails rolled his eyes with a half smile.
Sonic stopped Tails, "Huh? What are y-"
"Shhh! Look!"
He points towards a tree. Tails squints his eyes, catching the sight of someone under a tree struggling with something. It was hard to see, their fur is camouflaged by nature.
"Is-Is he crying?" Tails asked concern.
Sonic didn't say anything and walked towards the kid.
The kid wiped away his tears with the back of his hand and whispered, sobbing silently, "I'm sorry. I can't do this without you."
