23. Anniversary

JJ's pov

I've lived in the new house for 2 weeks now and I really like it, still nothing from John B, I've called him countless times he won't answer, oh and today is also me and Brooke's 3 year anniversary or what was supposed to be anyway. The pogues know, but they haven't mentioned it to me at all, they probably think I'll relapse or something.

"Hey River, shh it's ok, I'm getting the bottle" I say holding him while making his bottle. "Ok here you go" I say giving it to him since he can hold it now. "Ok daddy's gotta go to work, so you're gonna go hangout with auntie Sarah ok" I say grabbing my stuff

Then an alarm on my phone goes off and it's an alarm for my anniversary with Brooke

"Ok bubby, were gonna ignore that it's not important" I say canceling it feeling like I wanna curl up in bed and cry. "Ok let's go to Sarah's" I say walking out the door and buckling him into the car

Oh yeah Kie got me a car since I can't ride my bike with River. I told her she didn't have to since she's already done so much for me, but of course she didn't listen.

"Alright we good back their bud" I say looking at him in the mirror and he smiles at me with his little teeth that are growing in. "I'll take that as a yes" I say and start driving to Sarah's

Sarah's

"Hey" I say as Sarah opens the door. "Hey JJ, hi River" she grabbing his hand and shaking it. "Can you take him" I say handing him over to her

"Ok I gotta get to work, bye I love you bubby, thanks Sarah" I say walking away. "Hey JJ, you're ok right, considering what today is!" She yells getting my attention making me feel worse. "Yeah I'm good, better not to think about it, I gotta go, I'll be back when I get off" I say getting in the car and driving away

After work

Today was really shitty not many people showed up, so I was left standing there with my thoughts and they were all about my memories with Brooke from today or any anniversary we had and it didn't help that I got memories back from my phone from last year and the years before, so when I went to break it was the first thing that i saw when I checked my phone, I had to try so hard not to cry at work

When I got to my car after work was over I couldn't do it anymore and I broke down crying before going to Sarah's, I know she's gonna say something about my face being red.

Sarah's

I knock on the door and she answers it shortly after and of course the first thing she says is are you ok.

"Hey are you ok, no offense but you look like shit" she says opening the door. "Thanks Sarah" I say sarcastically. "I'm good though, where's River" I say walking inside. "You sure you don't wanna talk about today" she says following me

"No I'm good just here to get River" I say. "Yeah he's upstairs, I'll get him" she says going upstairs. "Here he is, just woke up so he's tired" she says handing him to me and he lays his head on my shoulder

"That's alright, still makes me feel better" I say quietly but she still hears me. "You sure you're ok, it's ok to talk about it" she says sounding sad. "I'm ok, just wanna go home" I say trying not to cry again walking out the door

"JJ please call me if you need anything, you can call any of us you know that!" She yells out the door at me. "Yeah" I say getting in the car and driving away

Home

"Ok, were home, gotta wake up" I say getting River out of his car seat

I take him inside and lay him down in his crib, so he can sleep a little longer and I go watch TV in the living room, although I'm not really paying attention to it though, I'm just thinking about how I should be at a date with Brooke right now

At some point I fell asleep cause I woke up to River crying in the other room

"Hey it's ok shh, dadda's here it's ok" I say picking him up. "You hungry, you probably want a bottle huh" I say going to kitchen to make his bottle. "Here you go, gonna have to start feeding you baby food" I say giving him the bottle

Then I get a text from some pogue saying there's a party and that i should go cause I haven't been to one in a while

"Hey River how would you like going back to Sarah's for a little" I say grabbing his bag and go to car and buckle him in

I know I probably shouldn't go to this party, but just cause I'm going doesn't mean I have to drink anything

Sarah's

I knock on the door and she answers asking what I'm doing there

"Ah Pope wanted to know if I wanted to hangout with him and Kie, so I was hoping you would watch him again for a few hours" I say

"Yeah course I can" she says taking him from me. "Thanks I appreciate it, I'll be back to pick him up, bye River I love you bubby" I say going and getting in the car

At the party

I arrive at the address this guy gave me and I park the car and go inside and there's already people making out, getting drunk or high and the party just started

"Hey JJ you came, come here play a game with us!" Owen (the guy that's having the party) yells drunk over the music throwing his arm on my shoulder. "What game are we playing!" I yell

"Beer pon duh, come on!" he yells. "I actually didn't come to drink or anything just to hangout!" I yell. "Are you serious you JJ Maybank didn't come to a party to get shit faced dude who are you" he says lowering his voice now that we're outside

"I have a baby man I don't drink anymore" I say. "Dude come on don't be so boring just one game" he says. "Yeah ok fine just one game" I say throwing the ball

Well one game turned to many and many turned into me getting wasted and high out of my mind.
I was sitting on the couch drinking a beer and smoking some weed when a blonde girl with brown eyes asks if I wanna dance and of course i said yes she was beautiful why would I say no and the next thing I know she's kissing me

"Ah wait" I say pushing her away. "What do you have a girlfriend or something" she says offended that I stopped her. "No I don't, bu..." I say but she interrupts me. "Then shut up" she says kissing me

"Let's go upstairs" she wripsers in my ear. "Lead the way" I say and she grabs my hand leading me upstairs

Next Morning

I wake up with a slitting headache to a load noise surprisingly I was in my own bed

"Sorry I didn't mean to wake you up, I dropped my phone" the girl says. "What happened last night" I say sitting up realizing I don't have clothes on. "Well we were at a party you were wasted, and we hooked up then your friend gave us a ride here and we ended hooking up again, twice, I'm gonna go" she says

"What so you take advantage of me at a party then you just bounce" I say. "What you want me to stay or something" she says. "You could help me remember what happened last night" I say reaching for her hand

"Really how would you want me to do that" she says sitting on top of me on the blanket. "I got some things in mind" I say kissing her

"I should probably go, my mom's going to kill me for staying out" she says laying on my chest. "What time is it" I say. "Um...almost 2 o'clock" she says grabbing her phone. "2 o'clock, shit" I say worried getting up and getting dressed

"What's the matter, got somewhere to be" she says sitting up. "I have to pick up my kid" I say walking out of the room. "You have a kid" she says disgusted following me wrapped in a blanket. "Yeah is that a problem for you" I say mad

"I'm gonna get dressed" she says walking to my room. "You do that. I have to go stay if you want" I say leaving and heading to Sarah's

Sarah's

I get to Sarah's and I run to the door and knock and she answers the door looking pissed

"Where the hell were you and what happened to hanging out with Pope" She yells as I walk by ignoring her to see all the pogues sitting in the living room

Yeah I'm in deep shit
