chapter 32

I've been putting this off for a while now. :(

Jin's Pov

I sat down with my family since they had the right to know. I couldn't bear to face them as I spoke. 

"She was with me. But one of the beasts that raided could control ice." In taking a breath to stop me from breaking down." We both got encased in it but when I broke out she wasn't there anymore. As if she disappeared." My body shook as I finished. Jinah jumped from her seat, wrapping her arms around me. Her sobs were evident and it was at this moment I did too. My mother followed after. Ji-soo stayed with us for a long time. Was it a year.. maybe a year and a half?

One thing though is that she existed. All the things she added to this house were still here and Jinah and mom remember her, only she wasn't here physically.

The city was devastated by the unknown beasts. They began repairs but the massive black hole in the sky was still a concern. It was known as the colossal gate. 

Hunters from around the world gathered at said gate prepared to fight anything that came out. 

"I've never seen you this nervous before. Not to mention without Ji-soo. Where is she?" Cha Hae-In geared up for the fight stood next to me. She has to hit a sore spot. 

"She couldn't make it."

The gate started to shine a light purple in the sky and everyone took that as a sign of the beginning. 

Everyone started shouting. A few are probably questioning their life choices. 

My eyes widened at the sign because this wasn't a normal gat. Out came the Ashbornes army which was shown through the flashbacks. Shadow beings with wings and dragons came flying out toward us. 

"Nobody Move!" My voice rang out and everyone hulted in place.

"Mister hunter, why!" Woo Jinchul questioned. I gave him no mind as I stepped closer to a shadow knight in front of me.

It kneeled to me but still towered over my height. "Grand-marshal, Bellion." Soon as they all touched the ground they all kneeled almost looking like a wave. "The shadow army and I humbly present ourselves to our monarch."

This is the real army of Ashbourne. Deep down I hope this wasn't his gift to me. 

Days later I disappeared leaving the news to Woo Jinchul since I knew he will cover for me. Using this time to order my new soldiers Smack dab in the middle of nowhere.

Beru wings fluttered fast as he fluttered next to me. "My liege. Please test if I have the qualifications of a grand marshal. I, as commander, will challenge grand-marshal Bellion." I allowed it since it would be interesting and it will help me learn more about Bellions strengths.

The first thing noted was his sword.  A sword type like Igris and endeavor but by the size, he must carry power over speed. My thoughts were proven wrong with a flip of his wrist. 

His sword was elongated and deformed into pieces and its movement reminded me of a snake attacking its prey. He neutralizedberu's charge instantly. Every time the sword hit the ground it made an indentation. 

Beru kept going but each time Bellion instantly knocked him down.

"Beru, why are you clinging on to being grand marshal so much?"

"I will become the grand-marshel and stand on my master'sside at all times." 

I will never understand him. "Cant Bellion be on my right and you on my left?" This started to make everyone act out and do random stuff. "What are they doing this time?"

"It looks like they're trying to make a lodging so you can have a more comfortable stay. Why don't you call them back to the shadows?"

There were a few things I learned from Ji-soo. One was that she cared about these beings. Both shadow and holy. She would watch history shows with beru and applauds when the mages did cool magic. Hell, there was a time she fought and learned sword skills from Igris and endeavor. When one of them got hurt in dungeons she would nearly cry from time to time and squeal when they did 'cute' things. 

"Nah. It must be frustrating for them. they were stuck in between dimensions the whole time." She always said they were living even if they are dead. "Bellion are you sad you can't see Ashbourne again?"

"I stood by his side even when he fought against the rulers who had revolted against the absolute leader. I was the first to volunteer as a soldier when he acquired the power of death. I aided him for a long time, An amount that is close to eternity, yet I never doubt his judgments." At my request, he told me his story. 

In my free time, I spent as must time as I could with my family since I'm not sure what would happen next. Of course, we all miss Ji-soo but we are sure she will return since we know she won't die easily. 

Deep down I know Ashborne is pulling something and my gift would be her. 

Bonus

Ji-soo pov

After the system screen vanish I was still in this flowery field. 

"Ashbourne what the hell, I was meant to go back."

"Yes but I want to make the new monarch try a little bit harder." His voice resonated through the void? Field? I don't know. His body was nowhere to be seen but next to a tree in the distance, I could see another system screen. Nothing else I charge at it. With the restrictions off I feel free. Faster, stronger, Everything. Here I notice my Jin fighting the beast monarch but his fight seemed different from my memories. He seemed angrier as he killed him. I leaned up against the tree and watch this screenplay out.
