✰~Chapter 2~✰

"Harukawa!~" I hear a sweet, familiar voice call out to me from behind me as I'm walking home.

It's Kaede Akamatsu.

"What is it now, Akamatsu?" I sigh.

"I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out!" Kaede giggled.

"Even if I wanted too, it'd be a bad idea, our families are enemies, Akamatsu. Plus, where would we even hang out?" I crossed my arms.

"That's the thing! If our families catch us hanging out, we can just say that I challenged you to a competition! And for where we'd hang out, we could go get ramen and maybe go to the arcade!" Kaede's eyes shone brightly like stars as she talked, jeez she really wanted to be my friend.

"Fine, we can go hang out, but if someone finds out that we're lying then it's your fault." I sighed once more.

"Yay!" Kaede squealed and jumped with joy before grabbing my arm and dragging me towards a local ramen restaurant.

"Here we are!" Kaede said in a singsong voice as we stood outside the restaurant.

"Yoroiya Ramen..?" It looked so sketchy..

"I know it looks sketchy, but I've been here many times before! The ramen here is soooo good!" Kaede looked at me once more with stars in her eyes.

"Fine, I'll trust you on this one.."

Kaede quickly opened the doors and dragged me inside, I watched around us as guests stopped eating and started to stare at us. I can't blame them, the Akamatsu family and Harukawa family have been known enemies since day one, and it's not everyday you see an Akamatsu hanging out with a Harukawa.

"Harukawa, what do you want to eat?" Kaede smiled at me.

"Oh, I haven't looked at the menu.. What do you recommend?" I asked, looking down at the floor and twirling my hand through my hair.

"Hmm.. What about.. The shinachiku ramen!? That's what I'm getting!" Kaede smiled brightly, once more.

"Hmm.. Okay.. How much is it?" I asked getting ready to take out my wallet.

"Oh no, no, no, no! I'm paying for us!" Kaede pushed my wallet up to my chest.

"Huh-? Why?" I raised and eyebrow.

"Because I invited you to come here!" She put her hands on her hips.

"... Fine.." I put my wallet away as Kaede turned to the worker and ordered for us.

"Hi there, can I get two shinachiku ramen and a private room, please?" Kaede asked the worker polietly.

"Uhm, yeah sure.. Anything else?" The worker asked.

"No thanks!"

"Okay that will be.. 2100 yen, would you like to put it on the Akamatsu tab?"

"Yes thank you!"

"Alright.. The private room is just over there."

"Thank you!"

Kaede quickly grabbed my arm and dragged me over to the private room.

"Why'd you order a private room?" I asked pushing her arm off me as we got inside.

"Frankly, I wouldn't want to be stared at while we ate." Kaede awkwardly chuckled.

"Eh fair enough.." I put down my bag and sat down as Kaede did the same.

"So uhm.. uhm.." Kaede fiddled with her fingers as she struggled to think of a topic we could talk about.

I would struggle too, our family have been enemies so although we've known each other our entire lives, we've never really gotten to know each other.

"What's your favorite subject in school?" I asked, playing with my hair.

"A-ah probably music! I really like playing the piano, what about you?" Kaede smiled.

"It's more of a club than a subject but probably the martial arts club.. But in terms of school subjects, I guess cultural arts." I continued playing with my hair, not making contact with Kaede.

"Oooo!~ I could tell you were some sort of cultural arts kind of girl!" Kaede giggled.

We then heard a knock at the door.

"Come in." We said in unison.

Kaede giggled while the door opened and our ramen was put on our table.

"Thank you!" Kaede smiled as the worker left the room and closed the door.

"This looks really good.." I said admiring the food.

"Can I take a photo of us? I won't post it I promise!"

"Why do you want to take a photo..?"

"For memories!"

"Alright the, fine.." I sighed as Kaede got out her phone and posed with a peace sign, while I just kind of sat staring at the camera.

"Okay.. and done! Doesn't the photo look so good?" Kaede showed me the photo.

"Yeah, it looks nice.." I twitched a smile like before.

"Awww!~ You're so cute Harukawa chan!" Kaede pinched one of my cheeks as I blushed a little bit.

"Ch-chan!?"

"Oh do you not like it?" Kaede stopped pinching my cheek.

"I-I'm fine with it, I just didn't expect it.." I said cooling down my face a little bit.

"Oh okay!" Kaede smiled happily.

We then began to eat our ramen before we heard another knock at the door.

"Come in." I said.

The door then opened and we stopped eating in shock.

It was Kaede's father and my father, standing there..

And they looked..

Fuming..
