You're hired

Next day...
Waking up the next day to the same email that was resent to her a few minutes ago, reminding of her the time she should be in the company, she needs not to be told that she needs to hurry there.
Standing up from the bed lazily, she drags her feet into the bathroom and slams the door hard behind her back angrily. She was still feeling sleepy, but she has to wake up to go to this damn company.
She didn't get to see Ren before she went to bed yesterday, so she's still skeptical about this whole thing. She was fucking thrown out of the company like a piece of trash the last time she was there, so how's she certain that the same thing won't happen this time around?
"Don't be pessimistic about this. They fucking sent you an email themselves, and they even dropped a reminder for you this morning. They need your service now," Her subconscious mind says to her, but she just rolls her eyes. The fact that the company sent her the email doesn't guarantee anything. She was sent an email the last time she went there, only for her to be embarrassed. As much as she doesn't want to go there, she also wants to look at the bright side of this.
Working there will mean her getting paid monthly, and will also save her from the boredom of staying indoors all day, getting stuck reading novels.
After spending a few minutes in the bathroom, having her bathe, she finally walks back into her room once she's done, and throws her closet open. The cloth there are kind of old, and none of them would match her working with the company, and she would eventually need to get new ones, which she doesn't know how to go about it yet. For fuck sake, she's broke and can't afford anything at the moment. Maybe she will be able to along the line if she eventually gets hired by the company, and she gets her pay later.
Reaching out for the white big shirt in the closet, and a pair of black trousers, she manages to scoop herself inside, although it's so tight for her. The dress would be oversized for normal people, but here she is, forcing it on herself. The fuck! What if this dress tears now?
After she's done dressing, she stares at her reflection in the mirror for a few seconds and takes a deep breath.
"You can do this,". She whispers to herself, arranging her hair. She finally picks up her phone from the dresser, striding out of the room afterward.
The drive to the company didn't take much time, since it's still early, and traffic jams are likely not to occur.
Arriving at the company later, she stares at the building in front of her, while having her heart run a marathon in her chest as a train of thought fills her mind. What if what happened before repeats itself? What will she do?
"Go for it, Lilian. You can do it," She assures herself before she pushes herself forward, heading to the entrance door afterward.
Stepping into the company, she takes a deep breath as she walks briskly to the elevator, ignoring the usual weird stares and murmurs she's getting from people. They would always talk, anyway. So why the hell should she be sad? It's not that they're going to stop even if she's sad. She's only focused on the interview, and nothing else.
Arriving at Chris's office later, he leads her to Ren's office.
"Go in," Chris urges her after he places a knock on the door, and Ren's voice ushers them in from inside.
Taking a deep breath, she pushes the door open and walks in with her legs shaking slightly, her heart beating nervously against her chest. It's as if she's just seeing Ren for the first time.
"Sit," He says to her coldly. The way he acts makes her doubt for some seconds that he might not know that she is the one the walked in, but on second thought, she feels like he must know that she's the one.
Walking over to the chair, she slowly sits on it, waiting for what he's going to say. Whether he's going to throw her out again.
"Have you had any experience in this work before?" He asks, not sparing her a glance, and she gulps down nothing nervously. Although she's a graduate with a first-class upper degree in business administration, she knows how this stuff is done, but she has never gotten the chance to work before, because of her look, even if she knows all strategies for business that can possibly progress a company.
"No," She replies, confused on how to address him, whether by his name she does call him at home, or 'sir', the way she's supposed to address him. The way he acts makes her doubt if he's really the Ren she knows.
"Why do you think we should hire you?" He finally raises his gaze to look at her for the first time, reclining on the chair, while staring directly into her eyes keenly, like he wants to see through her.
For some seconds, her heart freezes in her chest as she stares at those beautiful eyes, getting frowns in their charm. Everything about this man is so perfect, except for his dark heart that can't even be matched by the devil. If he's not a heartless being, how could he have kept her in this condition?
"Uhm..." She clears her throat, trying to stay focused. It's obvious that he's trying to test her confidence, and even if it's difficult to concentrate, she won't give up. Being here is a thing to be fucking happy about. Maybe she would eventually get a chance to work here and earn money for herself for the first time in her entire life.
"I have everything it takes to work here. The knowledge, the education, the talent, and the business strategies. Making the company grow in the future is my priority, and I will surely make it work," She answers him confidently and boldly, making him squint his eyes.
For some seconds, he stops to ask himself if she's the same Lilian he knows, or if someone is posing as her, but it's so obvious that she's the one. For the first time, she did something that impressed him. How she managed to still be so confident even with his eyes piercing into hers, intending to confuse her, is still magical and crazy.
Staring at the blank expression on his face, she can't help but ask herself if she just messed things up. What did she say wrong?
"Uhm..."
"You have just three months to work here. My secretary is away, and you'll be replacing her for mow, and until she's back," He cuts her off, and her mouth drops open in shock. She didn't expect that she'll ever get a chance to work here.
"Thank you so much," she says to him excitedly, but he ignores her and continues.
"While here, maintain your boundary, and pretend not to know me if you don't want to get yourself into trouble. Don't mess around with things here. Do you get it?" He says, and she slowly nods her head.
"Good. You're hired. You can resume work on Monday since tomorrow is Friday. You don't come to my company with those rags you're wearing, so get an appropriate dress to wear," He says to her coldly, and she nods her head.
"You may leave now," He says to her, and she stands up, exiting the office, not after greeting him for the last time.
"She's not bad, after all," he shrugs as he mutters, once she's out of the office...
