"Why won't you let me go... please stop... it hurts, I wanna go home... LET ME G-"

You were awoken by Vanitas violently shaking you. He stared at you worryingly and patted your head in reassurance that you were fine. Your heaving breaths ceased to slow down for a few minutes, but after a while came down. You cluelessly looked around the Church you found yourself lying on the floor and immediately got up as soon as you saw the white-haired man, who subsequently caused a disruption in your mission that was meant to be concise.

"Are you alright mademoiselle?" He stared at you with worrying eyes that you could identify to genuinely be sincere.

You lowered your guard against him and responded with a slight smile with a nod.

After ensuring you were fine Vanitas continued his conversation with the white-haired man you'd come to know as Noé. The name had a nice ring to it and you were happy to hear Vanitas ultimately wanted him to join you guys. His interest between finding out more about the book of Vanitas, worked in parr to your newfound interest in his childishness and the general need of you and Vanitas needing to complete work more efficiently. While you were an important asset in ensuring his general safety there could never be enough protection in guarding the sacred book—you always thought.

"Lend me you strength, Noé!" Vanitas spoke enthusiastically.

...

"No way." Noé somewhat muttered.

"Hahaha! I see! I just knew you'd say that!—you're quite stubborn, but you saw that girl back there, didn't you? As of recently the number of vampires who've lost their control due to being attacked by maladies has increased drastically."

You glanced at Noé whose eyes melancholically dilated under the full moons gaze. You could tell that he knew about the severity of the situation and possibly faced a tragedy that was a result of a malady that went untreated—despite Vanitas being the only one who could truthfully "cure" a vampire. In a sense those eyes reflected your past naivety of allowing others to dictate your decisions.

"If we let things start, without investigating the cause... in the not-so-distant future you vampires will all cease to exist. Let me prevent this for you— if so, I'll do as I please... use the methods I choose... and no matter what you people want... I will save you..." Vanitas continued as his gaze bore into Noés eyes.

And that would begin the adventure of you three...

author note: the last sentence is so cheesy but I'll cope

author note: the last sentence is so cheesy but I'll cope. Also, sorry this is so short (+ probably has errors) but I wanted to post something to somewhat commence my writing "journey" again cause I'm bored and it's summer—- and what better thing to do than write this fic that's been ongoing for a while, but still hasn't made it past volume 1.
