   The room fell silent. "Oh." Was the simple word that fell from his mouth. You were scared. Terrified even. What if he arrested you right now? He could. He was in your house. What if you had to kill him?

   You brushed the thought aside. No, that would be suspicious. What if someone saw him enter your house. Murder is a bigger felony than being a wild witch. 'Don't be stupid' you told yourself, but let's admit. You were kind of stupid.

   "(Y/N)!" Hunter yelled. You snapped out of your manic little trance, realizing you were cornering him, malice in your eyes. You quickly stepped back. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?? That was the main thought. You were mentally screaming at yourself for almost acting on such intrusive thoughts.

   "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, please don't arrest me, I-I promise I'll stay quiet, I'll move off the boiling isles, I'll go somewhere else, I-" You panicked. You couldn't help but panic, and you wanted to panic, but no. He hugged you. He told you it was okay.

   WHY WAS HE SAYING IT WAS OKAY?
WHY WAS HE REASSURING YOU?
WHY DID HE HAVE TO BE SUCH A GOOD PERSON... Working for such an evil man?

   Tears escaped your eyes, "Hunter, stop.." You pushed him gently off of you. Hunter. You kept calling him by his name.. The name that he told you, because he trusted you. Why did he have to trust you...

   Hunter watched you silently. He pondered if he'd made a mistake, "Don't leave..." He said. You looked up from the floor at him. "Please don't leave... You're the only friend I have." He seemed sad now too.

   You hesitated, and the sorrow you felt was immediately replaced with pity. (Because you're a PEOPLE PLEASER-) "I won't arrest you, I-I'll go against the emperor's orders, just for you! Only for you!! I trust you, (y/n)... So please. Trust me."

   You found the monologue kind of cringey, but sweet at the same time. "Alright." The single word fell gingerly into the air, the confirmation acting as a kind of glue, piecing together your mental state if only for a moment. This was bliss. This was friendship... And friendship?
