turns out, alastor moody or mad-eye moody was in fact the new defense against the dark arts teacher. though the nickname matched him, he already seemed rather off his head.

"alastor moody." the man nodded his head at the students in the class. he turned around and wrote in chalk on the black board "ex-auror...ministry malcontent...and your new defense against the dark arts teacher."

"I am here because dumbledore asked me. end of story. goodbye. the end." the man husked aggressively "any questions?"

roslyn was sat next to harry in the middle of the room. hermione and ron were sitting together on the right, more in the front. everyone was sort of unnerved by the presences of the new teacher. roslyn sort of frowned and gulped. he was certainly one of the scariest hufflepuffs she's ever seen. stereotypes definitely didn't apply to this guy.

"when it comes to the dark arts... I believe in a practical approach." he grumbled. roslyn frowned and gazed at harry, he was already looking which she tried to ignore but the heat rising to her face proved difficult. she whispered "what does he mean by practical?"

harry shook his head and roslyn looked back at the new teacher "which of you can tell me how many unforgivable curses there are?"

roslyn shut her eyes tight. the three unforgivable curses. what a horrible thing to teach your first lesson of fourth years.
