~One month later~

Thankfully, when it came time for my pup to be born, Chan and I were much more organized than the others had been in getting to the hospital.

I started feeling cramps through the night as I slept, but it never occurred to me that maybe I should have told Chan, or maybe I should have thought about what the cramps might be from. Instead, I laid in bed and kept drifting off to sleep. Only to finally wake up when Chan was getting ready to go to work.

I groaned when the alpha left the bed, both because I wanted him to stay and because it woke me up to my cramps again. I whined from the bed as Chan went to take a shower, and had just barely drifted back to sleep when the alpha came out. I softly whined again as my hands went to hold my belly.

"Come back to bed..." I whined as I lazily watched the alpha drop his towel and start putting on some clothes.

"I can't, babe. I have to go to work." He said as he put on a shirt. "I'll be home later, baby."

I whined a bit louder. "Please? I want my alpha..."

"I would love to spend the day cuddling with you Felix, but I can't. Changbin and Jisung are finally coming back to work today, so we're supposed to be releasing a comeback before long. I have to go."

I groaned, but I knew he was right. I lazily pushed myself out of bed, ignoring the alpha's gaze at my naked body from last night's mating session, before I stood up. Only for us both to pause and look down at the floor as the now familiar to us pink liquid dropped and soaked the wooden floor. I let out a whimper and held my belly, as Chan quickly came to my side.

"Ah, fuck--" I hissed softly, feeling more frustrated than scared. "Why can't this shit leave me alone?"

"What?" The alpha asked with a scoff.

"I've been cramping all night." I grumbled nonchalantly.

"And you're just telling me?! I was about to leave you!" He hissed softly, before he slung a bag he'd specifically packed for this moment over his shoulder. "Come here baby. Breathe, through the pain, okay?"

I groaned as the alpha picked me up, and cuddled close to him as he got me dressed and carried me out to his car. He laid down a towel for me to sit on, before he buckled me in. Then, he got in and started the drive to the hospital. I leaned back in my seat and took in deep, rhythmic breaths through my pain and quietly suffered, while Chan dialed a number and connected his phone to his car, sitting his phone down as the call went through on his car's dash.

"Hello?" A voice I didn't recognize responded.

"Hey, I can't come in today. We'll need to reschedule everything. My mate is going into labor. I'm taking him to the hospital right now." Chan said a bit urgently, but also calmly as he drove through the heavy morning traffic.

"Chan--" The person said in a frustrated tone, before they sighed. "Fine. Do you want me to file you down for paternity leave?"

"Yes please. I probably won't use all of it. Just set everything back." He said, making me scoff.

"How long do you usually get paternity leave in Korea?" I asked curiously.

"Seventy eight weeks." The person on the phone answered.
