Sirius had a dilemma. Marlene told him that the next time he saw her, he needed to make a decision. Either he 'break up' with Remus and get with Marlene, or she bring out whatever blackmail she has on his brother and friends. He didn't want to know. If I was something that Sirius needed to know, Regulus would have told him he is a responsible adult. But Marlene said it was life ruining. What does she know and how?

Sirius needed time to think, but he couldn't let Marlene ruin his friend or brothers personal lives no matter what she knew.

He decided to take a few days off, partially to escape Marlene, and partially to ease his anxiety. Every day his mind was plagued with thoughts of what Marlene could know, and thoughts about Remus fucking Lupin and the kiss they shared. Sirius almost couldn't stop thinking about it. He wanted Remus almost desperately but knew Remus didn't feel the same.

"Bye, Lily, I'm going to see someone that might be able to help Sirius." James said and left their families home, going to a familiar home, though he wouldn't admit it to anyone. Before him and Lily got together, he had a bit of a thing with the guy, but if he told anyone, especially Sirius, he would be furious.

James knocked on the door, which was answered by the same familiar face and medium length black hair. "James!? What the fuck!" Regulus exclaimed upon seeing him.

"Reggie, I'm sorry. Last time I saw you I ran away. I was scared, but I need your help." James said. Regulus sighed and stepped aside, letting James into his home.

"This better not be another ploy because I swear to God potter, if you hurt me like that ever again-" james cut him off.

"We can talk about this later. Please, I just need your help with Sirius." James begged.

"Oh." Regulus said, pleasantly surprised. "Come on, follow me," Regulus led James to his living room, where they sat down on two separate armchairs. "What's going on?" Regulus asked, hands clasped in front of him.

"Sirius hasn't shown up to work. Marlene showed up to his house and must have said something to him, and now that she is allowed back at the school, he hasn't shown up." James explained quite frantically.

"Do you think it might have been about what he called me about a few weeks ago? He called saying she threatened to hurt me and some of his friends, but never elaborated." Regulus suggested.

"All Remus explained was that she had blackmail on you that could ruin multiple people's lives - you don't think?-" James was cut off mid question.

"She knows. I don't know how, but she fucking knows and might have proof."  Regulus looked terrified.  "Sirius will hate me. He will hate you, you're his friend, I'm just a stranger to him"

"Do you think lily will hate me?" James asked weakly, terrified of losing the woman he loved most, the woman he grew up always loving.

"You're still worried about lily after all this time? Is she still with severus?" Regulus asked. James forgot he had no way of knowing anything about James's life, since he rarely talked to his own brother, and james hadn't seen him in - how many years - since before Harry was even born, long before lily and james got married.

"Regulus." James frowned, "Lily is my wife, we have a son together." He told the other man.

"Oh, I had no idea. Um, congratulations? She's your wife I'm sure she won't hate you for things we did when we were young." Regulus said.
