"Wake up."
When the young boy heard someone calling out to him, he gasps loudly and sat up quickly with a startled expression, he looks around a bit confused and slightly dazed, but once he was able to get his bearings and focus, he was able to remember what happened and recognize where he was, which made him calm down instantly and sighs

"Was I able to save her, Six?"
He rubs his head, which aches a little, as he turns his attention and looks at the older man that stood beside his medical bed, he looked clean and fit, well dressed in green, had cool shades, and just looked very professional in general, his 'name?' was Six, and he just stare back at younger man with a unreadable expression

"Yes, in fact we just sent her away a few minutes ago."
Hearing Six not only confirmed that the girl, that he saved, was alive and well, but also seemed to have made a full enough recovery that she sent home, or at least he was assumed she was sent home, before he could even wake up and check up on her

'Shame, I didn't even get a chance to say hi to her.'
But even with that in mind, he couldn't help but sighs in relief and smile to himself, as he was just glad to have helped someone and prevented them from dying, that thought alone was enough to soothe his heart and no longer worry about her dying in his arms

"Since you seem to have fully recovered yourself, White Knight has a special mission for you."
Six interrupted his thoughts by bringing up something that definitely caught his attention

"What mission? The usual but kicking and curing some rampaging EVOS?"
He couldn't help but feel a little pump and eager to punch someone or something, after nearly being traumatized to seeing someone almost die, having an excuse to beat up some EVOS and let out some emotions sounds good right about now

"Curing, yes, but fighting, not this time, we've sent our new recruit to fight the threat, testing them to see if they're fit to become your partner."
Six once again said something that caught his attention, the feeling of wanting to fight is now replaced with curiosity on this so called 'New Partner'

"Oh? And I'm guessing I am going to watch them be cool and see if they're awesome enough to become my sidekick?"
The possibility of a sidekick never really crossed his mind, since he somewhat already has a certain ape as a partner, though he won't deny that having someone else on the team would be a nice change of pace, especially if they're cleaner than his monkey and more fun than the person who doesn't have a sense of humor or know any kind of fun

"If you wish to call it that, then yes."
Six, the Agent of humorless and unfun, just simply nods in confirmation on what the young man needed to do, to which wasted no time getting out of bed and getting himself ready

"No problem Six, I'll be sure not to be bias and totally not give them any unfair points when grading them~"
Once he puts on his signature red jacket and had his goggles back on over his eyes, he crossed his arms and, out of nowhere, managed to summon some kind of large orange jetpack from his body and onto his back, he glanced back at the man in green and gave him a smirk

"Now then, tell me where the final exam is taking place?"
Meanwhile, at some kind of city that seemed to resemble New York, a very large creature, that looked to be half the size of most large buildings in the surrounding area, was in the middle of causing a very large ramage, smacking its arms, tentacles, tails thingy everywhere, crushing everything with it's large foot pads claws thingy, and letting out a very loud roar that not only shattered every window nearby and further, but also managed to catch everyone attention and either make them run for their lives, or let a certain young man with a orange jetpack know where the monster was at, he landed at a random building top and used his goggles to zoom in at the creature and the surrounding area, trying his best to understand the situation and destruction that was happening

"Well our boys in Providence's already evacuated the citizens, and the monster is in a good location to be punched a lot in the face, or faces?"
He then looks away from the situation and started checking the surrounding areas, as if looking for something specific

"Though it won't be me doing it this time, or at least I will only kick butt if my quote and quote, 'New Partner', fails to at the very least do some actual damage to this EVO, though I have some doubts that they could actually be as awesome as me~"
He then hums softly as he wore a light frown in confusion and narrows his eyes slightly in suspicion as he continues to look around the place he was at

'Though where is my soon to be maybe sidekick, I thought they would be here by now?'
Though just as he was about to call Six and ask him questions of what's going on, he immediately saw and got startled by 10 pair of swords quickly flying by him and going towards the giant monster, once he was able to mentally catch himself and focus again, he was able to bare witness the fight that was about to happen, the flying swords started to spin around insanely fast, almost acting like saw blades, and the spinning swords then wasted no time slashing off all the arms, tentacles and tails that the giant EVO had, causing it to let out a loud roar in pain, unfortunately the flying swords weren't done yet, after reducing its ability to cause more destruction, and be less of a threat, the blades quickly stopped spinning as it then did something else, the hilts of the sword then started to form some kind of wires behind itself, it seemed to be made of either unknown metal or energy, maybe both, and it uses these special wires to quickly wrap around and tie up the feet of the large monster, now preventing it to move anymore, not to mention without any limbs it couldn't even untie itself if it wanted to, once the EVO was both defenseless and immobile, the flying sword disconnected itself from the wires before they flew right in front of the face huge creature, to which it saw and got very mad about it, letting out a very strong and powerful roar of pure frustration and was about to use it's multiple rows of sharp teeth to take a giant bite of the flying swords, in hopes in destroying such a problem in a single chomp, sadly all it did was reveal a huge opening for the floating blades, it formed a circle right in front of the open maw of the EVO, the tip of the swords folded back, and, after a moment of glowing green and seemingly charging up, the flying weapons shot a very large blast of pure green energy inside the mouth of the large creature, and the power of the lime laser was so great that not only did stop the monster from taking a bite, but also sent it back with enough force to make it fly away a few feet away from them and landed hard on the ground, breaking it greatly and shaking the buildings nearby, though luckily nothing to bad or unfixable, and once the EVO was finally taken down and unconscious, the swords wasted no time flying towards it and uses it wires again, tying it down into the ground, making sure it would not get up and cause destruction again when and if it wakes up

"... Wow..."
The young man, who just watch this whole ordeal, couldn't help but be in complete awe and jaws dropped, clearly whatever he was expecting, it was most definitely wasn't this for sure

"Alright alright, you impressed me newbie, A++ gold Star."
But despite such a shock he has just received, he would not deny that he was impressed in what he just saw, one might say that they would probably do better than just a simple sidekick, though he would rather not admit that quite yet

"That's really great to hear, much appreciated!~"
The young man yelps and screams like a scared little girl, no doubt not expecting anyone to answer him, he quickly turns around to see who just sneaked up behind him, his eyes went extremely wide when he saw a very familiar orange hair girl with bright green eyes and a very excited smile, she was even blushing lightly on her freckled face when she heard him praise her accomplishments, though once his attention was finally on her, she wasted no time trying to proper herself before doing a respectful salute to him, like a soldier would give to their general

"Greetings Sir Rex!~ I'm Penny Polendina, and I'm Combat Ready to be your new Partner!~"

Quick Note: Due to Rex using Nanites to heal Penny, he might have accidentally upgraded and made her stronger than before, so yeah, if you see her do something she hasn't done before in the show, that's the reason why, might do the same for Rex too, what do you think?
(BTW last chapter, it was to dark for him to see that Penny was a chopped up robot and not a chopped up human, also this is Volume 3 Penny)
