"Can't wait to leave." Cassidy groans out as she puts on her jacket.

"I still have another three hours." Melissa whines.

"You're in my prayers." Cassidy says, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Did you tell Derek yet?"

"..."

"Cass, you really need to tell him."

"I know but- We're spending sometime apart because of- something- and he has a lot on his mind."

"Well you need to make an appointment soon and from as much as I know Derek, he'd want to be there."

Cassidy sighs, running her hand through her hair. "I'll tell him soon. Promise."

Melissa smiles and nods. "Good. Now have a good night."

"Have fun working." She ends, walking away form the nurses station and towards the exit.

"Rude!" Melissa a calls after her.

As she's about to go through the doors, two gurneys come rushing in.

"We've got two coming in who were in a motorcycle accident." A paramedic says.

Cassidy moves out of the way and catches a girl being brought forward followed by Isaac.

"I've got Isaac you get the girl." Cassidy says to Melissa who nods.

Isaac is laying in the gurney as the paramedics rush him down the hall.

"Isaac." Cassidy starts.

"I'm fine. The girl is worse." Isaac explains.

"Melissa is on her. What happend?" She asks.

"Miss., you can't come."

"I'm a nurse." Cassidy objects.

"I'm aware but you look like your going home and we have it."

Cassidy is about to protest when Isaac says,

"Cass, go. I'm fine, really."

Cassidy looks at him one last time than leaves.

...

"Jason where the hell are your shoes?" Cassidy exclaims as she searches the kitchen.

"I don't know." The six year old replies, mouth full of cereal.

"A little help looking for them?" She asks the child.

"I said I don't know." He replies in the same manner as before.

Cassidy freezes and takes a deep breath.

"I need to get to the hospital in ten minutes while it's a twenty minute drive. Jason you need to get to school in fifteen minutes and I don't know where your shoes are."

"Maybe dad should be here." Jason mutters.

"Jay, it's safe if we aren't always together right now. Okay?"

"Are you guys getting divorced?"

"Jason, we're not even married."

"Are you breaking up?" Jason restates his question.

Cassidy leans down next to her son and says, "No. I love your idiot dad too much to break up. He just wants to keep both of us safe by not being together awhile. But we're never going to break up. Promise."

Jason nods, liking the answer. He stands and grabs his backpack.

"Let's go." He says.

"Your shoes-" Cassidy says as she stands.
