chapter one
the new kid.

Lexi has been annoying me all week. She hasn't shut up about these new boys joining our school, apparently they are famous as-well.
I don't really care though. I'm the type of person who prefers to stay in their own lane. I refuse to have a boyfriend, it's ridiculous.
Where as Lexi is boy obsessed. She already has a crush on Reagan Tucker, one of the most popular boys in our school.
Yeah, I'm not a boyfriend person.
"Cindy, the new boys are coming literally next lesson." Lexi nudges me excitedly. I smile and then begin to focus on my work again. "Your so boring Cindy."
"I'm really not Lexi." I say to her.
"You are." Lexi disagrees. "You've literally never had a boyfriend, you never have any crushes, you are a nerd basically." I giggle at her comments. She is actually right though that's the thing. I look down at my work and feel Reagan approaching us. He sits down next to me, because that's where he's meant to sit on the seating plan. It's just silence for a moment, as Lexi has a huge crush on him and it's awkward.
I look down at my phone and notice Lexi texting me.
"Oh my god!"
"Grow up Lexi." I tease.
"Hey girlies." Reagan teases. He's such a tease, I don't understand why Lexi likes him.
"Hello Reagan." Lexi retorts. "I have a question."
"Go on." Reagan says.
"When are the new boys coming?" Lexi puts to question.
"She hasn't shut up about it." I put in.
"Um..." Reagan replies. He looks slightly disappointed. That being said is when the door opens, and an unrecognised face walks in.
It's a tall ish boy, he's taller than me at least. He has brunette hair and dark brown eyes, and a little freckles.
"This is Jaden, everyone." The teacher announces.
"Hey Jaden." Reagan shouts. "Can he sit by me, Cindy's really distracting?" Reagan asks the teacher. They obviously known each-other before he joined the school by the looks of it.
"I'm not, if anything you are the distracting one." I say to the teacher.
"Don't be silly Cindy, move up one." Reagan commands, i nudge lexi as if I'm telling her to move up a seat and she moves. Jaden sits down next to me and he gives me a polite smile, which I return. I really like his freckles. I dont know why. Is that weird to say?
"Jaden this is Cindy." Reagan introduces me. He smiles again.
"You did say Reag." Jaden reminds him. "Hi Cindy."
"Hi Jaden." I return to the brunette.
"And then this is Lexi," Reagan continues. "She's a bitch."
"Reagan shut up." Lexi hisses, it seems like she's mad but we all know she's secretly in love with him. The teacher then tells us that we have to do our work in silence, which I actually don't mind.
"Cindy?" Jaden whispers to me, I look at him to see what he wants. We look at each-other for a few seconds, I admire his freckles. They are cute actually, I'm not saying I like him. I just like his freckles. "What you staring at?"
"I'm waiting for you to say what you want idiot." I reply. He opens his eyes in shock. "What?"
"Didn't know you were snappy." He retorts.
"Oh yeah?" I say.
"Mhm." He mumbles. "Can you help me with the work?"
"Hm..." I mumble considering-ly. "No." I reply as I do my work.
"Please." He whines.
"Ask Reagan since you are best friends." I tell him.
"No, Reagan's clueless." He says to me. "Looks at him." I look over at Reagan and he's got his head on the desk, sleeping.
"Fine." I begin to explain the physics work to Jaden, and he's silently listening. I don't even know if he's paying attention to be honest.
"That's not how you do it." He whispers. What?
"Do it yourself then." I snap. He rolls his eyes at me.
"I just wanted to talk to you since Reagan is sleeping." He admits.
"Awh, sweet." I tease.
"Shut up." He kicks my seat, I do it back and my teacher glares at us.
"I'm sorry." I apologise, begging to refocus on my work. "Idiot." I mumble to him and he chuckles.
