We arrived at the Victors' Village in District 12.

On a snow covered pathway, Haymitch stopped next to me.

He watched me trudge on.

My arms were folded.

I entered my house.

My feet brushed dead leaves into the foyer.

I glanced around.

Later

I slept on the couch in the Living Room.

I heard the crockery clatter in the Kitchen.

I woke up.

I propped myself up on one of my elbows.

I swung my legs off the couch.

With my arms folded, holding the long cardigan around me closed, I walked into the Kitchen.

I halted as I saw Buttercup on the window sill above the sink.

He meowed.

I frowned.

I stared at the shaggy cat.

"She's gone."

Buttercup meowed.

The orange tabby watched me expectantly.

"Get out!"

I strided closer.

"Get out! Prim is gone!"

I hurled a cup at him.

"Prim is gone! She's hurt! And she's not coming back! Get out! Get out!"

Ears flattened, Buttercup flinched but didn't leave.

I sobbed.

I put a hand to my trembling lips.

As sobs racked my body, I scratched under his chin.

Buttercup meowed.

He purred.

I sniffled, picking Buttercup up.

I held him close.

Tears glided down my cheeks.
