Stanley POV:

"Stanley.. this feels.. very weird.."

"I know, but we did it! We are free!"

The Narrator ignored the feeling of something being wrong.

"..Yeah.. i guess you're right.."

The Narrator locked eyes with Stanley.

"W-We should look around to know where we are.."

They did look around but couldn't find a single sign, or.. anything that helps where they are.

"What? How are we back at the door again?"

The Narrator asked, visibility confused.

Stanley shrugged as he was just as confused.

"Did we really walk in a circle? How?"

The Narrator was clearly irritated.

"We should try another way..- What?"

An invisible wall? Wait.. we are not actually..

Stanley was confused. Everything seemed so.. hopeful.

"Narrator-"

"Stanley! Watch out!"

Before they could do anything, Stanley was shot.

He fell to the ground. Behind him, standing someone with a gun.

"..No..No.."

The Narrator kneeled before Stanley. Unsure what to do.

"You can still safe him."

The guy said.

"Go back in. Now."

The Narrator was shaking, he didn't ask any questions, he just grabbed Stanley and went inside.

"..Reset.."

....

....

"Stanley? Can you hear me?"

Stanley nods, still unable to understand what just happened.

"Oh thank god, you're alright. Wait, i'm coming to you."

The Narrator hugged Stanley.

"Okay, that didn't work, i'm just.. glad you're alright.."

"What happened? Who was that?"

Stanley asked.

"I have no idea.. seems like.. this will be harder than we thought."

Suddenly, they both heard another voice.

"Oh Yes, this will indeed be harder for you."

"This voice..That is the guy.. that hurt you.. I'm going to fucking kill him."

The Narrator was normally not like this. But he was angry.

Stanley grabbed the Narrator's hand.

"Don't."

"Kill me? Oh you are so cute! You won't even be able to find me! You see, you have no control anymore. You are just like your little friend over there now. Good Luck surviving!"

"No control?"

The voice was right. The Narrator couldn't do anything anymore. No resets, no nothing.

The Narrator was afraid.

Is this how Stanley felt all this time?

"We should check if the computer is still there.."

But it wasn't. It was all gone.

"....I'm sorry Stanley.. i really thought.. we made it..I feel like a failure."

Stanley took the Narrators hands and looked him in the eyes, shaking his head.

The Narrator smiled sadly at Stanley.

"I'm sorry.. i don't know what to do now.."

"Let's sit down and think about it."

They both sat down, Stanley's head resting on the Narrator's shoulder.

Soon enough, Stanley fell asleep. The Narrator took his hand and fell asleep too.

After a few hours they woke up to hearing someone speaking.

"You guys are so adorable! Like rats."

They both got up.

"You know, i thought about what to do with you two.. and i got an idea! Let's test your friendship! One of you is gonna escape.. the other one is gonna stay here forever! The best part is.. you get to decide!"

The Narrator looked shocked, but he knew exactly who would go.

"No, No, No, don't look at me like that, i am NOT going without you."

Said Stanley.

"You have to."
