Stanley POV:

The Narrator and Stanley were happy. They got new jobs, got a house, took care of Stanley's son every two weeks.. life was good.

The only thing missing is..

"Darling, you're free tonight, right? No working overtime?"

Stanley asked the Narrator.

"Oh, i am free, why?"

"Just curious."

Yeah, right, curious. As if Stanley hadn't planned something.

"Oh! I am running late!"

The Narrator quickly got up and put his jacket on.

"I am gonna miss you."

"I am gonna miss you too."

He hugged Stanley and gave him a kiss before leaving.

Finally!

Stanley took a day of work to do this, so he's not gonna waste it.

He waited a few more minutes and then left the house too.

Oh wait, did i feed the cat?

Do i even have the keys? Ok no, i got the keys.

Why do i worry about the cats? The Narrator always feeds them.

I am nervous.. i should just concentrate..!

Stanley bought flowers, candles, food, chocolate and.. a ring.

If i had bought it sooner, i probably would have lost it, or he would have seen it since i am not careful.

What Stanley didn't know was, the Narrators didn't go to work at all.

He lied.

As Stanley walked out of the last shop, his heart dropped as he saw him.

No that.. couldn't be him.. he is at work.

....

....

Stanley called his boyfriend, just to see if he would look at the phone. Obviously they couldn't actually talk.

The Narrator looked confused and a few moments later, Stanley received an sms.

{Narrator}: Are you okay? What's wrong? You called me?

{Stanley}: Yeah, Sorry, accident. Is everything fine at work?

{Narrator}: Of course. Thank you for asking. See you at home. I love you.

{Stanley}: I love you.

Stanley was confused, what is he planning?

Stanley decided to follow him.

Or.. not.

What?? Where did he go?? I just looked away one second! Why is everything distracting me??

Stanley went to the park and sat on a bench.

Ugh.. maybe he just getting something for work..? I don't know.. i should just trust him more.. but.. then again..

"Who would wanna commit their life to you?"

Stanley stood up and was about to throw the ring into the lake.

No.

I don't want to throw this away.

Calm down.

Stanley took a deep breath.

I am disappointed in myself.

I am better than this, i should just ask him when he gets home..

Stanley threw some bread at the ducks.

Maybe we should get a duck.

"Stanley?"

"Marie?"

"What are you doing here?"

".. Feeding ducks..? What about you? Who is your friend?"

"Oh! Right, sorry, this is Zengwentwithabang my.. friend!"

"Nice to meet you. Are you not at work?"

"I am working the nightshift."

"Oh, right. I have to go, it was nice seeing you, Marie"

"Sure, see you next week."

Should i go on with my plan? I don't know.

Stanley went home. He had to think.

A few hours later, he got a message from his lover.

{Narrator}: Stanley, come to the bridge, it's important.

Hm?

{Stanley}: Alright, i'll be there.

Stanley looked at the ring and took it with him.

Just in case.

Stanley was nervous the whole time he walked there.

It was dark, the only thing glowing was.. the bridge..?

As Stanley got closer he saw flowers and candles all over it. It looked very romantic.

"Ah, Stanley, it's good you're here."

"What's going on..you said it was important..?"

The Narrator took Stanley's hands in his.

"Stanley. I am very happy to have you in my life. I have never ever been happier, and i want to spend every day and night with you. Waking up with you every morning is the most exciting thing ever. It's impossible not to be overjoyed when you're near me. My heart and soul are yours. So.. i.. i really want.."

The Narrator got down on one knee.

"I want you to marry me.. Will you marry me?"

Stanley stood there in shock.

You're kidding..

"I.. Yes of course i want to marry you. I will marry you over and over again, as many times as possible."

The Narrator began to cry as he put the ring on his finger.

"I am sorry i had to lie to you today, but I didn't wanted to ruin the surprise."

Stanley wipes away the Narrator's tears before pulling out the ring he had bought.

"It looks like we had the same idea."

The Narrator smiles through his tears.

I mean, how high are the chances they both propose to each other two years later on the day they escaped?

Was all of this just Stanley's dream? When he fell asleep in the employee lounge? No one will know, not even him.
