Untwined hearts

"Leon stop!" Kiara roughly grabbed his shoulder causing him to spin around.

"Did you not fucking hear the woman? He dragged our 3 year old son along this hallway and you think i'm not going to fuck him up" Leon chuckled bitterly.

Kiara folded her arms and looked at him seriously, "And don't you realise you can get thrown in prison for putting your hands on another man? Don't be ridiculous"

He listened to her words carefully then held his head down in defeat.

"I want to beat him up as much as you do but we need to make wise choices which is the best for Kariel. The first one being is going back into that office and hearing his side of the story because for all we know it could be something worse and the teacher is lying. He just went through something traumatising and your first thought is to beat someone up and not check on your crying son"

"Your right" he admitted. "My bad, lets go" Leon gestured Kiara to walk in front of him and he trailed slowly behind her still wanting to hit Carter. He wasn't going to let him off easy either.

They entered back into the office to see Isiah with his arm around Kariel, both of them sleeping and Jennifer typing aggressively on the nearby computer.

"I've moved Kariel into another class to avoid back and forth conflict with your son. You may leave when you're ready" Jennifer told them without taking her eyes off the screen.

"So does...my little brother go back to class?" Kiara asked as Leon went over and picked up sleeping KJ.

"Um...your father Nathaniel will be picking him up, he's on his way"

Kiara nodded then left the office following after her baby daddy. They got into his car then headed home.

"We need to teach him that hitting other kids is wrong" Kiara broke the silence.

"Nah, we don't know the situation yet. Could be that the boy deserved to get hit" Leon shrugged.

"Leonn" Kiara dragged trying to suppress her laughter. "At least we know he can hold his own and won't let another child bully him" she said making Leon nod in agreement.

"For the way Kariel was screaming, we need to take him to the hospital" Leon said assertively. "His arm looks swollen"

Kiara turned around to look at her sleeping son who's cheeks were covered in tears. "...You're right, what the hell that looks weird"

They pulled up to the hospital and got checked in at A&E. Kariel was still asleep which was good because he couldn't feel pain at the moment.

They entered the doctors room and Leon carefully removed Kariel's upper body clothes but as soon as it touched his arm he woke up scrunching his face in pain. Lucky for him, the clothes were off now. As Leon took off his son's clothes, Kiara explained the situation to the doctor.

The doctor examined his arm being careful not to hurt Kariel. "Well I can definitely say it looks like his elbow was pulled out it's socket. I need to take an x-ray to be certain, come with me and we'll have one done for him"

"What the fuck" Leon knitted his brows together.

"We're suing" Kiara immediately said. "My poor baby" her face saddened hearing Kariel sniffle as he cried.

They got the x-ray done then returned back into the room to reflect on the results.

"His elbow is definitely dislocated and i'll need to pop it back into place which is very painful, i'll give him some medication but he'll still feel some pain" the doctor explained.

Leon looked over at Kiara to see that she was quietly crying. He took her hand and intertwined their fingers giving her a little squeeze.

After waiting for the pain medication to kick in, Leon held Kariel in place as the doctor swiftly pulled down his wrist and levelled his elbow back into place making him scream.

Leon put his polo shirt back on since it wasn't wet like his jumper then the doctor attached a sling to his arm.

"His arm needs to be immobile for 1-3 weeks, I'll arrange another visit to the hospital where we can start physio therapy so he can get used to using his arm again. I've prescribed him pain medication which you can collect at your local pharmacy when you're ready" The doctor gave them a tight lipped smile. "When showering, take off the sling but be very careful as it will still be painful. Make sure to keep his arm close to his body to minimise any movement"

When they arrived home, Kiara gave Kariel a bath to get it over a done with. She decided after this bath to just wipe wash him because she couldn't bare to hear her son's cries any longer.

She changed him into Ben 10 pyjamas then placed him next to Leon in their bed while she got her hygiene together. They agreed to sleep in the same bed for the sake of Kariel.

"I need you get some information on a teacher who worked at Chester primary school. His name is Mr.Carter" Leon spoke on the phone to someone while Kiara was out the room. "Let me know when you done the job innit and i'll send the money through. When you find him, bring some of the mandem with you and fuck him up. Don't kill him though"

He exchanged a few more words then hanged up. Kariel busied himself by playing with an interactive ABC toy, he got frustrated every time he remembered that he couldn't move his arm.

After some time Kiara returned to the room, she got dressed in the bathroom which she hated but oh well. She sat crisscrossed next to her son then peeked over at her baby daddy who was texting someone on his phone.

"KJ, can you tell us what happened today?" Kiara spoke softly while putting her arm around him, being careful not to hurt her son.

"Caleb...not give crayon and he scratched my finger. It bleed. He kick my chair I say fucking stop and he not fucking stop. Den I hurt him" Kariel explained and Leon pinched himself hard to stop himself from laughing.

He continued, "Quarter shout at me and I did this" he put his middle finger up. "He scream at me and I cry then he pull me out" his lips quivered remembering the terrifying moment.

Kiara heavily sighed then looked over at Leon who had an unreadable expression on his face while pinching his arm.

"That's not okay KJ. Number one, don't swear and number two you should've told your teacher that he was kicking your chair. Numb—"

"Kiara shut up respectfully. He was only backing himself, my son isn't a pussy and he isn't gonna be raised to be afraid to hit when needed. That Caleb yute scratched him and kicked his chair, he shouldn't have done that in the first place." Leon side eyed her.

Kiara clenched her teeth to not burst out shouting, "I don't want Kariel to grow up bad breed, he literally gave the boy a black eye and he needs to learn that's not okay. I'm not saying he shouldn't fight for himself but there is levels, the boy didn't deserved to be punched just as how KJ didn't deserve to be dragged along the hallway. Kids make mistakes and it's up to their parents to teach them right from wrong"

Leon opened his mouth to speak but his baby mum held her hand out gesturing she didn't want to hear what he had to say. So instead he shot her a glare but it didn't phase her because Kiara knew she was right and he was wrong.
